The dorm supervisor ghost flinched and hurriedly said, "N-No... nothing." Then she obediently stepped aside!
Xia Yao instantly changed her expression and smiled brightly at the stupefied Chu He. "Let's go in!"
Chu He blinked at her. "O-Okay."
The dormitory was enormous, with six floors and twenty rooms on each floor!
Just as the school rules had said, there was a red button on every door!
The corridor was permeated with a faint musty smell. Paint peeled from the walls, and the lights on the ceiling flickered on and off.
Chu He could clearly sense that behind every closed door lurked a different, eerie presence. Whispering and the sound of grinding teeth seeped through the cracks, as if the ghosts might burst out at any moment and devour anyone they found.
Xia Yao acted as if she didn't notice any of it. Still holding Chu He's hand tightly, she headed straight upstairs.
"That dorm supervisor seemed pretty badly hurt," Chu He said as they walked, testing the waters.
"She was injured because I broke the rules she set." Xia Yao's casual reply carried startling implications.
Chu He's heart lurched. "She made the rule about boys and girls living separately? Then you..."
"That's right. She's SS-Class. I didn't feel like dealing with the trivial matters in this building, so I left them to her," Xia Yao said matter-of-factly. "As for me... I'm the owner of this school."
Xia Yao had mostly stopped stuttering when she spoke, and her voice was becoming more and more pleasant to listen to.
Chu He could imagine that if Xia Yao ever cried out, she would sound as lovely as a songbird.
It would make anyone feel light-headed with bliss.
It would fill anyone with energy.
And inspire them to work tirelessly.
"We're here!"
Xia Yao led Chu He to the top floor of the girls' dormitory, all the way to the very end, where they stopped in front of a door unlike any other. Three gilded characters were engraved on it: "Principal's Office."

"This is where you live," Chu He said, looking at the door. Then he feigned confusion and asked, "So where am I supposed to stay?"
"You'll stay with me, of course!" Xia Yao replied in surprise.
"W-Whaaat?!"

"Holy crap! They're living together! God Chu is awesome!"
"This is moving way too fast, isn't it?"
"Aaaah! Living together in the Principal's Office! Is this really something we're allowed to watch? This is so exciting!"
Chu He was stunned. "But we've known each other for less than a day!"
"But you kissed me, so I'm yours now. I like you. When you love someone, you have to be together every moment."
She suddenly stepped closer. The innocence in her eyes faded, replaced by a hint of cold scrutiny. "What, don't you... like me?"
Chu He's scalp prickled. Was this how romance worked in the eerie world?
And Xia Yao really was domineering!
Seeing the displeasure on Xia Yao's face, Chu He immediately put on his most sincere expression, his survival instincts in overdrive. "I do! How could I not like you? I dream of having a girlfriend as beautiful, cute, and powerful as you, who's so good to me!"
The chill in Xia Yao's eyes vanished instantly. The corners of her mouth lifted uncontrollably, and her eyes curved into sweet crescents. "Then we'll live together!"
"Of course, of course we'll live together!" Chu He agreed, then changed tack, his expression turning deep and tender. "But, Yao Yao, have you ever heard a saying from Dragon Country?"
Xia Yao blinked at him curiously.
"True love isn't about possessing someone in an instant. It's about understanding and companionship over the long term."
Chu He gazed deeply into her eyes. "We've only just met, but I feel like there are countless mysteries between us. I want to understand you, learn about your past, find out why you're here, and enter your true inner world. I don't want us to stay at such a superficial level, with nothing more than 'kissing' and 'living together.'"
He paused, his voice turning utterly solemn. "So before I move in here, I want to move into your heart first. Is that okay?"
Every word struck Xia Yao right in the heart.
She froze. She didn't understand such complicated reasoning, but she could feel the sincerity in Chu He's words, and something deeper and more alluring than simply "living together."
