Ch. 164Death Archbishop Lu Cang

Lu Cang welcomed Iz and the others back after they defeated the Death Church bishop and discussed the remnants who had approached him about becoming their leader. After Iz suggested using Lu Cang as an insider, Lu Cang and Iz brought Kumiloni into the plan, leaving her shocked by Iz’s announcement.

  • Iz and the others returned to Knoroya, and Chicheng recounted how Luluwei discovered the Death Church bishop hiding high above the Valley of Deep Fall and how Iz’s magic helped defeat him.
  • Kumiloni confirmed that the bishop had sacrificed himself and that Iz had destroyed the area, while Lu Cang concealed that Death Church remnants had asked him to become their leader.
  • Lu Cang encouraged Luluwei to believe she could grow stronger, and she later regained her confidence by defeating Leng Qingying in the Battle Arena.
  • Lu Cang told Iz that the Death Church remnants had approached him, and Iz proposed using him as an insider to help eradicate the church.
  • Iz summoned Kumiloni and announced that Lu Cang was going to become the Archbishop of the Death Church.

Ch. 165I Am the Bishop

Lu Cang agreed to infiltrate the Death Church as its leader and convinced its elders that he was Bai’s incarnation by killing a one-armed elder. Mu then took Lu Cang to the church’s hidden headquarters, where Lu Cang asserted control and asked to see its treasury.

  • Kumiloni and Izpalut agreed that Lu Cang could join the Death Church as a spy and arranged for him to meet Mu.
  • Lu Cang met Mu at the Great Library of Knoroya and agreed to meet the Death Church elders before taking the leadership position.
  • When a one-armed elder questioned Lu Cang, Lu Cang trapped and killed him with a soul cage and explosion, and the remaining elders accepted his authority.
  • Mu led Lu Cang through a concealed passage out of Knoroya and flew with him to the Death Church’s underground headquarters.
  • Lu Cang warned Mu not to question his plans, claimed control of the church, and asked to see its accumulated treasures.

Ch. 166Level 3 Decipherer

Lu Cang took control of the Death Church’s treasury and used his powers to convince Mu that he was Bai’s incarnation, then ordered the church to keep a low profile. After advancing to level 3 as a Decipherer, he felt his spiritual power grow substantially.

  • Mu showed Lu Cang the Death Church treasury, where Lu Cang found secret scrolls, spells, and a sealed dagger containing an evil spirit and trapped souls.
  • Lu Cang pulled the souls out of the dagger, took the weapon, and rewarded Mu with two souls before ordering him to keep the church quiet and under control.
  • After Mu left, Lu Cang and Iz discussed his performance, and Lu Cang continued studying Death Spells and managing the church from the White Tower.
  • Lu Cang tested the Soul-Devouring Dagger on black ants and confirmed that he could extract their souls and absorb them with Soul Dominator.
  • On December 6, Lu Cang completed the level 3 Decipherer promotion ritual and noticed a major increase in his spiritual power.

Ch. 167God-Tier Complete Restriction Control

After completing his Decipherer promotion, Lu Cang gained the power to control restrictions and arranged to travel with Kumiloni and Iz for his Death Priest promotion. He tested his new ability around Knoroya, improved his equipment, and secretly entered the Temple of Light’s Forbidden Hall to copy a sealed tome.

  • Lu Cang gained the Profound Decipherer and Burst of Inspiration masteries, new deciphering skills, and the God-Tier Complete Restriction Control talent.
  • Lu Cang and Kumiloni planned to travel to the captured Death Church headquarters after the tenth so he could perform his Death Priest promotion ritual.
  • Aijin returned Lu Cang’s reforged Void Ring Star Staff and gave him a Robe of Evil Eye Gaze.
  • Lu Cang bypassed the White Tower’s restrictions, reached its fifth floor, and found the Theorem of Destiny, which concealed the Inner Theorem of Destiny.
  • Lu Cang used his restriction control to infiltrate the Temple of Light’s Forbidden Hall and found a golden tome titled Light Forbidden Technique: Heavenly Punishment Purge.
  • Lu Cang decided to copy the sealed tome rather than take it from the Temple of Light.

Ch. 168Light Forbidden Technique: Heavenly Punishment Purge

Lu Cang copied forbidden grimoires from the Church of Light, and Izpalut encouraged his disciple’s pursuit of magical knowledge before helping him study the Light Magic spell Heavenly Punishment Purge. On December 10, Lu Cang traveled with Iz and Kumiloni toward the former Death Church headquarters, rescuing a town from a Tier 5 Demonic Tide before reaching the hidden outpost.

  • Lu Cang secretly copied several grimoires in the Church of Light’s Forbidden Hall, including a heavenly creature summoning spell, and returned the books without disturbing the wards.
  • Izpalut recognized the copied grimoires, praised Lu Cang for obtaining them, and offered to help him break into the Dark Church’s Forbidden Hall someday.
  • Lu Cang studied more than ten powerful Light Magic spells with Izpalut, including the forbidden technique Heavenly Punishment Purge.
  • On December 10, Lu Cang traveled with Iz and Kumiloni toward the former Death Church headquarters and joined them in rescuing a town surrounded by a Tier 5 Demonic Tide.
  • Lu Cang summoned angels and Void Creatures and used Purge All Evils to destroy the monsters, while Kumiloni healed the townspeople.
  • The three travelers passed ruined settlements and reached a hidden Death Church outpost inside a cave, where Kumiloni warned them to avoid being discovered.

Ch. 169Level 3 Death Priest

Lu Cang advanced to level three as a Death Priest and gained the ability to transform those he killed into powerful undead under his control. He then joined Kumiloni and Iz at the sealed depths of the Death Church, where he prepared to break the ward hiding a dangerous black egg.

  • Kumiloni told Lu Cang that the Life Church had been unable to break the ritual ward protecting the cavern's depths, and Lu Cang decided to try after sensing a dangerous black egg beyond it.
  • Kumiloni performed the Promotion Ritual, and Lu Cang offered souls and corpses to advance to level three as a Death Priest.
  • Lu Cang gained the Godly talent Undead Rebirth and demonstrated it by turning slain black ants into stronger, varied Special Species undead.
  • Iz reflected on the undead ability and gained new inspiration for his theories about life, death, and souls.
  • Lu Cang, Kumiloni, and Iz reached the sealed stone wall, and after an hour of pretending to decipher it, Lu Cang said he had figured it out.

Ch. 170God-Tier Undead Rebirth

Lu Cang extracted the soul from the sealed Source of Calamity, sacrificed ten thousand souls, and raised the creature as an undead under his control. After discovering it could summon disasters and form dungeons, Lu Cang and Iz agreed to use its powers carefully, while Kumiloni warned them not to let it cause disasters indiscriminately.

  • Lu Cang opened the seal and used his dagger and Soul Dominator to pull the soul from the egg-like creature.
  • Lu Cang sacrificed ten thousand souls in the ritual, and a lifeless Source of Calamity emerged from the shattered shell.
  • Lu Cang used the ritual again to raise the creature as an undead, then sent it out of the cave as the Demonic Tide gathered and dungeons began forming.
  • Lu Cang discovered that the creature could cause natural disasters, earthly disasters, and Demonic Tides, and stopped it from controlling the surrounding weather and ground.
  • Iz supported Lu Cang's use of the creature, and Kumiloni agreed on the condition that they only use it to create dungeons and clear every dungeon that formed.

Ch. 171The Threat of Rui Jia's Destruction

Lu Cang, Iz, and Kumiloni tested the Source of Calamity, and Lu Cang fought off the King-tier Demonic Beasts it summoned before the Source formed a sixth-tier dungeon. As they left, Iz sensed a massive, organized monster invasion in Ruijia and warned that the nation would be destroyed if no one intervened.

  • Lu Cang released the Source of Calamity on a deserted plain, where it drew in the Demonic Tide and caused dungeons and Demonic Beasts to appear before the group.
  • Iz and Lu Cang performed rituals to summon high-tier Demonic Beasts, and Iz enclosed them in a vast Flame Cover while Lu Cang killed thirteen King-tier beasts and turned them into undead.
  • The Source of Calamity formed a sixth-tier dungeon, which Iz entered and quickly cleared before the group left as it crumbled.
  • Iz detected another large Demonic Tide near Ruijia, and he, Lu Cang, and Kumiloni flew to the area.
  • Lu Cang saw monsters stretching across Ruijia's territory, and Iz identified the organized attack as a planned nest invasion involving sixth-tier monsters and warned that Ruijia would be destroyed.

Ch. 172Annihilation

Izpalut and Lu Cang intervened as monsters invaded Ruijia, and Izpalut annihilated the attacking horde to save Yuefeng City. Afterward, Lu Cang and Izpalut planned to investigate Ruijia for useful books and secrets, while Kumiloni refused to let them borrow the Life Church’s forbidden texts.

  • Izpalut defeated three sixth-tier King-tier monsters and learned that a man calling himself Monk had given them a plan to invade Rhea and information about powerful human Class-changers.
  • The surviving monster revealed that it came from a sixth-level nest of the Evil Lair, and Izpalut restrained and questioned it before Lu Cang collected its soul.
  • Izpalut cast a towering Stretching Flame Great Wall and then surrounded the demonic beast horde with four walls of fire, saving Yuefeng City.
  • The City Lord thanked Izpalut and ordered a banquet and a report to the kingdom, while Lu Cang stored another monster’s soul for interrogation.
  • Izpalut suggested that Lu Cang seek books and secrets in Ruijia for Loren, and agreed to bring Leng Qingying to help.
  • Kumiloni refused Izpalut’s request to borrow secret texts from the Life Church’s Forbidden Zone.

Ch. 173The Dark Forbidden Hall

Lu Cang recruited Leng Qingying and Iz to steal treasures from Ruijia’s churches, using Leng Qingying’s phantom to infiltrate the Dark Church’s Forbidden Hall. After taking documents and equipment, they moved on to the Church of Light.

  • Kumiloni chose not to warn the other churches about the thieves, while Iz left to bring Leng Qingying to Lu Cang.
  • Lu Cang infiltrated Yuefeng City’s battle skill academy, copied the War God’s Secret Legacy—Secret of the Slash, and stole several battle skill manuals.
  • Lu Cang studied the Secret of the Slash and discovered how to perform a true slash, then met Leng Qingying, who had arrived expecting to help kill someone.
  • Lu Cang, Iz, and Leng Qingying traveled to Serl City and planned a route to rob Ruijia’s churches and palace.
  • Lu Cang guided Leng Qingying’s phantom through the Dark Church’s Forbidden Hall, where she copied documents and took black daggers, crystals, a bone, and armor.
  • Leng Qingying kept the daggers and armor temporarily, and she and Lu Cang began their next theft at the Church of Light.

Ch. 174Into Enemy Territory

Lu Cang, Leng Qingying, and Iz raided several churches in Ruijia, then infiltrated the kingdom’s Forbidden Library and Treasury and stole their contents. Five days later, back in Loren, Lu Cang read reports about the thefts and prepared to examine the loot.

  • Lu Cang learned from Kumiloni that churches in Ruijia would receive only limited regional support if their treasures were stolen.
  • Leng Qingying collected books and valuable items from the Light, Luck, Cold, and Peace churches, while the group later gathered their stolen goods at the inn.
  • Lu Cang, Leng Qingying, and Iz traveled underground into Serl City, bypassed the palace restrictions, and Leng Qingying emptied Ruijia’s Forbidden Library and Treasury.
  • Iz brought Kumiloni along as the group escaped Serl City and left Ruijia.
  • Five days later in Knoroya, Lu Cang read news reports about Ruijia’s emptied Treasury and stolen church treasures, then prepared to inspect what he had taken.

Ch. 175Mysterious Fortune-Teller

Lu Cang tested the treasures taken from Ruijia’s churches, discovering that the Flag of Shining Victory enhanced his undead while removing their weaknesses to holy power. At the White Tower, he encountered Pali, who said Ruijia and its church were searching for her and asked whether he knew why.

  • Iz told Lu Cang that the king of Ruijia had secretly cultivated recruits for the Death Church, and she returned most of the treasures he had seized.
  • Lu Cang tested his new wards, weapons, and Light-Tracing Boots, finding that the boots let him travel at tremendous speed and the Holy Light Slaying Sword amplified his sword techniques.
  • Lu Cang used the Flag of Shining Victory to bless his undead, boosting their strength and removing their vulnerability to light and holy damage.
  • Lu Cang gave Obades an Ice Kitchen Knife and planned to give Luluwei a bow, then headed to the White Tower to ask Yuna to help study forbidden books.
  • Lu Cang found Pali reading on the White Tower’s third floor, and she asked why Ruijia and its church were searching for her.

Ch. 176Month 174: Forgetting

As the Month of Forgetting began, Lu Cang discovered how the dense fog erased memories and records, preserved memories of his life on Earth, and stole rare books on time studies from the White Tower. He ended the chapter by creating a sixth-tier Evil Lair dungeon in the wilderness to test his growing strength.

  • Lu Cang reassured Kumiloni that he had firm limits, continued deciphering Rijia's forbidden books with Yuna, and learned two of the War God's Secrets.
  • The Month of Forgetting began, bringing dense fog, vanishing records, widespread forgetfulness, and harmless dream wraiths to Knoroya.
  • After paying Pali two hundred thousand gold coins for trivial answers, Lu Cang remembered his plan and broke into the White Tower's seventh floor to copy two books on Time Studies.
  • Lu Cang wrote two diaries about his life on Earth and sealed them away before his memories faded further.

  • Lu Cang entered a Tier 6 dungeon with Chitipath, defeated its monsters, and opened a sealed treasure chest containing perfect-quality armor.
  • Lu Cang performed the Monster Promotion Ritual using souls and Tier 6 monster corpses, evolving Thousand Army Ant Mountain into the Nation-Destroying Tier Erupting Black Ant Mountain.
  • Lu Cang turned countless souls into special-species undead flying ants and stored Erupting Black Ant Mountain in his living-creature space.
  • Chitipath killed the dungeon guardian, and Lu Cang left the dungeon with the antlered guardian turned into undead.
  • Lu Cang discovered the area outside the dungeon had changed, summoned ten Continent-Sinking Tier monsters to protect himself, and followed his intuition toward a direction.

Ch. 178The Forgotten Kingdom

Lu Cang entered the Forgotten Kingdom during the Month of Forgetting, met the beastman Xiu Mi, and learned about the kingdom's dangers and treasures. After Xiu Mi entered the city, Lu Cang bypassed its wall, explored the battlefield, and killed an assassin who tried to attack him.

  • Lu Cang found a lost-looking Catgirl named Xiu Mi, pretended to be a child in need, and traded her magic items and scrolls for her protection and an explanation of the Forgotten Kingdom.
  • Xiu Mi explained that the Forgotten Kingdom appeared during the Month of Forgetting, that its visitors were said to be no higher than Level 5, and that it contained treasures left by those who died there.
  • Xiu Mi escorted Lu Cang to a walled city, revealed her token, and slaughtered adventurers who tried to take it before entering through the gate.
  • Lu Cang flew over the city's wall, sent Tier 6 King-tier undead to explore, and collected a powerful battle technique and other belongings from the battlefield.
  • An assassin approached Lu Cang and tried to cut his throat, but Lu Cang evaded the attack, stabbed him with a spear, and pulled out his soul.

Ch. 179Immortals Like Hemp

Lu Cang explored the Forgotten Kingdom, seized a gray seed, and defeated Sharig before forcing him to reveal the trial’s rules and the Moon Sea’s background. He then watched the Sword Saint defeat a fiery challenger and surveyed the many dangerous arrivals, realizing the Moon Sea was crowded with powerful figures.

  • Lu Cang took a gray ember-shedding seed from a corpse, then beat the one-eyed Sharig when he tried to claim it and took his black blade.

  • The three corpses turned on the Sword Saint, who battled them while Lu Cang used the distraction to approach their coffins.

Ch. 181Forgotten Kingdom

Lu Cang deciphered the reincarnation inheritance and triggered the awakening of the Reincarnation Corpses, which sealed the battlefield and attacked him. He deployed his undead army to fight them and watched the Sword Saint and Mage face increasingly powerful foes as the inheritance’s trials began.

  • Lu Cang deciphered the coffins and learned that the reincarnation inheritance required defeating the powerful beings marked and recorded there.
  • Xiu Mi used traps, a flash bomb, and a corpse-dissolving drug to attack the Golden Body Bald Head while Lu Cang finished deciphering the inheritance’s secret.
  • Black coffins appeared across the battlefield, a barrier sealed the area, and more than a hundred Reincarnation Corpses emerged and targeted Lu Cang.
  • Lu Cang fled toward the wall as his undead blocked the Reincarnation Corpses, but he found the barrier prevented him from leaving.
  • Lu Cang summoned thousands of Tier 6 undead and ordered them to kill the Reincarnation Corpses, then sent powerful undead to test the Sword Saint and the silver-haired Mage.

Ch. 182Stronger Fighters Must Die

Lu Cang used his undead to slaughter the fighters resurrected from the Black Coffins, while several enemies unleashed deadly last-ditch attacks. After the battle, he collected the corpses and continued onward, leaving the six surviving onlookers to watch him scavenge.

  • Lu Cang sorted his supplies in midair as his undead guarded him, then killed a Swift Kill Speed Ghost that tried to attack him.
  • Lu Cang’s undead overwhelmed the resurrected fighters, and Xiu Mi and the Sword Saint withdrew to join five others and wait for the battle to end.

Ch. 183Reincarnator

Lu Cang reached the Reincarnation Hall and learned that the inheritance allowed someone to reincarnate while keeping their memories and essence. Its current holder, a white-haired, red-eyed youth who had lived nine lives, attacked Lu Cang to keep the Reincarnation Mark, and their battle continued as Lu Cang used the youth’s own Origin Magic against him.

  • The Sword Saint realized the Forgotten Kingdom’s upheaval had trapped challengers and likely caused the previous Sword Saint’s death, while Lu Cang inspected the spoils from the defeated champions.
  • The battlefield transformed into the Reincarnation Hall, where a mysterious voice asked Lu Cang why he sought reincarnation.
  • A white-haired, red-eyed youth explained the Reincarnation Mark and revealed that he had reincarnated eight times, then challenged Lu Cang for the inheritance.
  • The youth attacked Lu Cang with powerful swordsmanship, but Lu Cang endured the strikes and countered with his spear, spells, and battle skills.
  • The youth demonstrated two Origin Magics, Reflection of the Past and Future Law, and explained that magic’s path to godhood required two opposing Origins.
  • Lu Cang copied the youth’s Reflection of the Past and used it to reproduce his own spear attacks against him.
