Spiritual Pollution was the world's incurable disease.
But Spiritual Pollution had only ever affected Class-changers who had advanced early. Lu Cang had never heard of it affecting normal Class-changers.
Luluwei...
Hadn't she advanced normally?
As far as Lu Cang remembered, Luluwei had said that she advanced on the day she turned sixteen.
"Lu Cang."
Luluwei opened her eyes and woke up.
Her gaze was clear now. She didn't look at all like she had been sullied by Spiritual Pollution.
She only sighed a little. "Just as I thought, there's nothing I can do about you."
"I lost to you again."
Lu Cang calmed himself and spoke steadily. "Luluwei, your spirituality has been polluted."
After a brief pause,
Lu Cang added, "Do you know that yourself?"
Luluwei was visibly taken aback, her pupils shrinking slightly. "Lu Cang, are you saying my spirituality has been polluted?"
Lu Cang nodded calmly. "Yes."
"Are you joking with me?"
Lu Cang shook his head. "I'm not."
"Big sister Luluwei, I really am telling you something serious."
"Your spirituality has indeed been polluted."
"You really were doing something awful just now. You were planning to attack civilians who had nothing to do with this, weren't you?"
Luluwei looked dazed, as if she were remembering everything she'd just done.
"No."
"I never thought that!"
Luluwei spoke excitedly. Beneath the dim lights, her chest heaved violently.
Lu Cang could tell her agitation wasn't an act.
But her words were a lie.
"Luluwei."
"Do you actually know that your spirituality has been polluted?"
This time, Lu Cang's voice was much sterner, nothing like the way a child usually spoke to Luluwei.
He sounded more like a superior interrogating someone.
Beneath the dim lights, a trace of fear appeared in Luluwei's eyes.
The fear quickly vanished.
"No, I don't know."
