Lu Cang was stunned at first, but soon understood what Izpalut meant.

One question pointed toward the true answer: the Source, the Source of magic.

The other question pointed toward what it meant to me: the Source, the Source of magic.

Lu Cang pondered for a moment.

Then he looked up. "Iz, I want to hear your thoughts."

Lu Cang sat cross-legged in the training ground.

Iz nodded in approval. "Mm, good."

"Learn from the experience of those who came before you."

"But everyone understands the Source differently, and their conclusions differ as well."

"They may not point toward the true answer."

"What matters most is still your own thinking."

"Those who comprehend Origin Magic don't necessarily share the same understanding of the Source. Their views might even be completely opposite."

"Let me tell you how I understand the Source."

The Source was far more complicated than Lu Cang had imagined.

As he listened to Izpalut's explanation, he could make out a few words at first. But just a few sentences later, it all sounded like gibberish.

It was like asking an elementary school student to study the theoretical calculations of quantum mechanics.

Still, Lu Cang had gotten a vague sense of a few things.

At levels one and two, Iz had considered the Source in terms of the void.

But after reaching level three, he realized that his approach was somewhat misguided, so he changed the direction of his thinking.

This showed that whether or not one's final answer was correct might not matter much when it came to comprehending Origin Magic.

"Honestly, my thoughts aren't important to you."

"What matters is your own thinking..."

"You're only missing this one thing before you become a level-three mage. Once you comprehend Origin Magic, you can advance to level three."
