Over an hour later.
"Oh, don't be so impatient, McQueen. I said I'd give it to you after half an hour, and I certainly won't go back on my word."
"And yet, Teio, you said the exact same thing half an hour ago... Sigh, never mind, you're just like a child."
Amused, Mejiro McQueen glanced at her friend who was clutching the drone remote control as if it were a treasure. After casting an envious look at the device, she shook her head with a smile and rested her chin on her hand, turning her gaze toward the tablet on the desk.
The tablet was connected via a data cable to the remote control in Tokai Teio's hands.
The remote was roughly the size of a brick.
The top featured an antenna, while the front section was equipped with joysticks, various buttons, and indicator lights.
The rear portion was dominated by a screen.
On the display, one could see blue-tiled, red-brick European-style buildings, paved avenues, tree-lined paths, bright and clean classrooms, and lush green training tracks...
It was an aerial view of Central Treisen Academy.
The tablet showed the same feed, and as Tokai Teio flicked the joysticks and pressed buttons back and forth, the two screens captured the scenery flying past at high speed.
"It really is miraculous. I never imagined such a small machine could fly so fast."
After watching the screen in amazement for a while, Mejiro McQueen looked at Anjing Zhen.
"If I'm not mistaken... the drone's speed right now must be around 60 kilometers per hour, right?"
Before Anjing Zhen could answer, Tokai Teio, without looking back and acting like a child who had just received a beloved toy, boasted:
"That's right, McQueen. I have the speed set to 60 here."
"Although Trainer Yasui said the limit can reach 72 kilometers per hour, even the Last Spurt of a G1 race doesn't reach that speed, and training certainly doesn't either. 60 is more than enough."
"Hehe, you'll see for yourself when you get to play with it in a bit."
Mejiro McQueen felt a bit helpless. Having known her for so many years, she could tell her friend was showing off.
However, she quickly refocused her attention on the drone, carefully examining the image on the tablet.
After seeing Anjing Zhen's demonstration earlier, she had instantly realized the significance of the drone.
High-quality footage is crucial for training and racing.
By reviewing such footage, both trainers and Horse Girls can identify many issues, learn valuable lessons, and optimize their subsequent schedules.
There are currently three main methods of filming: first, the multiple cameras at the racetrack; second, various surveillance recordings; and third, self-filming or fixed-point shooting.
Each of the three methods has its own pros and cons.
Multiple cameras provide excellent results, but aside from those broadcast on major programs, racetrack footage is generally kept by the Association and the academy, and accessing it requires applications and various procedures.
Surveillance footage covers a wider area, but requesting access is even more troublesome, and the clarity is very poor.
Self-filming is the method most commonly used by trainers, but the problem is that a trainer cannot keep up with a Horse Girl's speed unless another Horse Girl assists.
If filming alone, one is limited to a fixed point, resulting in a very monotonous shot.
The same applies when a Horse Girl holds a camera while running; the footage shakes violently at high speeds, making the recording quality far from ideal.
However, drone filming not only combines all the advantages of previous methods but also avoids all their drawbacks.
Especially as Anjing Zhen mentioned, once a flight path is set, one can arrange for three drones to provide continuous tracking. The footage obtained this way is undoubtedly far superior to any previous method.
At this thought, Mejiro McQueen couldn't help but look at Anjing Zhen with anticipation.
"Trainer Yasui, since you thought of this method earlier, you must have filmed while training Little Kita these past few days, right? May I take a look?"
Hearing this, Tokai Teio also glanced over.
As a top-tier, experienced Horse Girl with immense talent, she could see what her friend saw.
So, even though she was reluctant to part with the remote, she hadn't forgotten her duties as President.
"That's right. Even though you only told me last night, Trainer Yasui, you should have filmed at least once this morning, right?"
Anjing Zhen hadn't dampened their spirits while Tokai Teio was playing with the drone.
He had hoped that these two Presidents would experience the advantages of this filming method firsthand, as it would make the subsequent discussion much smoother.
Now that both had brought up the main topic, he didn't hold back and shook his head.
"Not yet. There are still a few issues with the drone, which is exactly what I wanted to discuss with you two."
"Issues?"
After asking in unison, Tokai Teio thought for a moment and handed the remote to McQueen.
"McQueen, you bring the drone back. I'll talk to Trainer Yasui first."
"...So you finally remembered I exist."
Complaining with a wry smile, Mejiro McQueen did not refuse.
After taking the remote, she began to operate it according to the demonstration Anjing Zhen had provided earlier.
"The most obvious problem is the noise."
At this moment, pointing at the image on the tablet, Anjing Zhen explained:
"You can't hear it on this recording because the device has a built-in noise cancellation system.
"But both of you heard the sound during takeoff; to be honest, it's still quite loud.
"In reality, if you get too close, you can constantly hear that buzzing sound.
"Your hearing is very sensitive, and if this issue isn't resolved, it will inevitably affect the training results.
"Then there are some issues with the programs.
"Strictly speaking, this machine is still a prototype; I was only able to acquire it due to some very coincidental reasons.
"Actually, it wasn't even a purchase; the inventor of this model wanted me to conduct real-world testing, which is why they provided it to me.
"Therefore, the camera movement, image processing, intelligent obstacle avoidance... in short, many programs still need debugging.
"And another thing is the issue of privacy."
When mentioning this, Anjing Zhen did not hold back.
Tokai Teio was stunned for a moment, but quickly reacted.
"Indeed, if you use a machine like this, it would be very easy to film whatever you want.
"The academy is full of girls, not to mention female teachers and trainers; if we aren't careful, it could easily lead to misunderstandings.
"In that case, let me think..."
Seeing this, Anjing Zhen did not interrupt.
He actually had some preliminary solutions in mind, but in his impression, Tokai Teio was very capable, and perhaps she might have a better way to handle it, so he decided not to rush and wait a little longer.
Before Tokai Teio could speak again, a puzzled voice came from Mejiro McQueen.
"Eh? Isn't that Little Kita? Looking like that... what is she doing?"
Simultaneously, the attention of both Anjing Zhen and Tokai Teio was drawn over.
Soon, just like Mejiro McQueen, both of them saw that the center of the screens on the remote control and the tablet was a Black Haired Girl.
It was currently between classes, and many students were chatting in the hallways, while others had run to the track to stroll around or play games with friends to relax.
The Black Haired Girl on the screen was neither chatting in the hallway nor strolling around to relax.
Instead, she was holding a branch full of leaves in each hand, sneaking around in the bushes beside the track.
