Though it was a Simulation Race, Kitasan Black had fully entered the state of a real race by now.
Her vision warped slightly through the blur of sweat. She could hear her own breathing roaring in her ears, like raging waves trapped inside a conch shell.
The arcs of the final two turns rapidly expanded across her retinas, while the patterns of the turf seemed to blur into countless blades slicing through the air.
This was not a track she knew.
The turns at the Gold Ship Family training grounds were nearly half as narrow as those on an official track, every apex like a deliberately compressed trap.
During the previous eight turns, she had tried using all sorts of techniques she had relied on before to cut in, but the instant her feet touched the ground, they showed signs of losing balance.
The angle at which her inner horseshoe brushed the ground was too shallow. Whether in races or training, she had never dealt with such a narrow angle before.
More importantly, she had grown accustomed to the slopes that were always present on official tracks, accustomed to using them to ease the centrifugal force created by the turns.
But this course had no slope at all. It was far too flat, leaving her no choice but to directly fight the centrifugal force with her stamina and physique.
Under these circumstances, there was no time to consider the most suitable Running Style. She could only make a snap decision—she would rely entirely on inertia for these last two turns.
The instant she made that decision, inertia pushed her toward the outer lane of the turn.
A golden ponytail flashed through her vision.
Her pupils involuntarily constricted.
The next second, a golden figure had already passed her.
Her heart tightened
