This Practice Race had been a spur-of-the-moment decision, so Anjing Zhen had not brought the various tools he would use for formal training.
But after constantly learning and gaining over a year of training experience, as well as becoming extremely familiar with Kitasan Black, he was certain that he had not seen wrong.
From a professional perspective, the greatest difference for Horse Girls between turf and dirt lay in stride length and Stride Frequency. In theory, the ratio between them had a golden value.
On turf, the ideal ratio between stride length and Stride Frequency was 1.6 to 1. Kitasan Black trained mostly on turf and had an excellent rhythm, so unless unexpected race conditions arose, she could generally maintain that ratio.
For dirt, however, the ideal ratio was 1.9 to 1. A longer stride reduced the number of times one made contact with the ground, thereby reducing the unique "sticky resistance" of dirt.
Yet Kitasan Black's stride length-to-Stride Frequency ratio still habitually leaned toward that of turf.
Although it was certainly difficult to achieve the golden 1.6-to-1 ratio on an unfamiliar track, it was still lower than the ratio most suitable for dirt.
There was no doubt that this would increase the burden on her body, especially her muscles.
Anjing Zhen did not need to look at the data to infer that the shear force borne by the muscles within his Horse Girl's body was at least around twenty percent higher than during her usual training.
There was also the mismatch between breathing and Stride Frequency.
The ideal ratio between those two was also 1 to 1. Yet judging from the opening and closing of Kitasan Black's mouth, the flaring of her nostrils, and the rise and fall of her chest, her breathing rate was now close to twice
