For Kitasan Black, the Primary Target of this training race was not victory, but experiencing the domain—perhaps even mastering it.
To achieve that, she had to rely on repeatedly designed "scenario simulations."
She was not particularly skilled at Great Escape. This Running Style could only serve as a strategic tactic, used to lure opponents, deal with situations involving multiple Escape Horses, or control positioning in the early stages.
Normally, upon noticing an opponent using Great Escape in a race, most Horse Girls' first reaction would be to press forward and contest position, disrupting the Great Escape Horse's rhythm and forcing her to expend her already precious stamina.
Kitasan Black happened to possess more than enough stamina. If an opponent truly did that, the one likely to suffer would be them rather than her.
Likewise, if there were several Escape Horses on the track, she could shift her approach from Great Escape back to the Slow Escape she excelled at most. She could maintain a lead of three to five Horse Lengths in the early stages, rather than the greater margin required by Great Escape.
That would not only avoid the expenditure caused by competing with other Escape Horses under a Great Escape strategy, but would also let her use her stamina and technique to accelerate continuously during the middle stages and still suppress those chasing from behind.
Route control was, in fact, an advantage of Slow Escape—an advantage gained after switching her lead strategy.
In a situation with multiple Escape Horses, especially a two-Escape-Horse situation, she could initially feign a Great Escape to seize the tempo. That would give her more segments in which to adjust her pace, allowing her to avoid exhausting her stamina while choosing the best route first and avoiding the risks of getting boxed in or
