On the way back to the inn, the evening breeze carried Atami's distinctive humid scent as it gently rustled the palm leaves lining the streets.
Kitasan Black walked ahead with several plush toys in her arms, but out of the corner of her eye, she kept watching Little Anzu behind her.
Little Anzu had been chattering nonstop at the yakiniku restaurant, but after parting ways with Mikki Rocket, she had barely spoken.
Or rather, the little girl had gone quiet ever since they left the arcade.
They were nearly back at the inn, yet Little Anzu was still staring at the ground, idly kicking pebbles along the road. Kitasan Black said nothing, though she had a guess in her heart.
What Mikki-chan said probably gave Little Anzu something to think about too...
After all, if we're talking about chasing one's seniors, Little Anzu... is probably doing that too.
But her goal is to surpass me. She hasn't debuted yet, and her aptitudes... are probably different too. Thinking about it, there really are a lot of things she doesn't understand yet.
