Anjing Zhen's concern and encouragement came through clearly to Kitasan Black. She understood that he was afraid she might think that what her seniors could do was something she herself might not be able to achieve.
If this had happened earlier, she might really have worried about whether she could measure up to her seniors.
But just as Anjing Zhen had said, she had gone through so much training and so many races, received guidance from so many seniors, and faced off against so many of them. Whether she could surpass them or not, she knew the answer deep down.
Besides, she had already raced them—and beaten them.
Without realizing it, she suddenly recalled something Grandpa had once said.
"People always say failure is the mother of success. Wrong—completely wrong. Failure only breeds failure. The only thing that can breed success is success."
She could not remember when she had heard those words, and she had not remembered them very clearly before.
Yet now, feeling Anjing Zhen's concern and encouragement, she remembered.
"Don't worry, Trainer."
She unconsciously met Anjing Zhen's gaze and smiled.
"I can beat my seniors at more than just racing..."
Anjing Zhen froze. A moment later, he realized that his Horse Girl seemed to have changed a little, though he could not immediately put his finger on how.
Before he could think further, Almond Eye, who was rapidly jotting things down in her notebook just as Kitasan Black once had, suddenly looked up and asked, "Then with this change in the track... will the Overseas Contestants also be able to adapt to this kind of course?"
Snapping back to his senses, Anjing Zhen looked at Almond Eye, then at Kitasan Black.
Honestly, he had been a little too focused on
