Zhunti and Jieyin also held their breath, biting the bullet as they explained the Dao of cultivation to a crowd of animals.
Various animals looked eagerly at the two sages. They could understand a little of what the sages explained at first, but after listening for a few hundred years, they became completely incapable of comprehending it.
These creatures still retained many animal instincts, and in their anxiety they did not know what to do; some went mad on the spot, while others shrieked and roared. Suddenly, the entire Mount Sumeru was a scene of chaos with demons dancing wildly.
Seeing this, Zhunti could only set up a barrier to isolate them.
Otherwise, this Dao would not need to be explained any further.
A thousand years later, the two finished expounding the Dao. At this moment, two figures flew out from below the stage and landed before Jieyin and Zhunti.
"Maitreya pays respects to the two sages. I perceive that all living beings suffer from bitter tribulations and find it hard to find a path of liberation. Having wandered for many years, I earnestly hope the sages will show pity and take me in as a disciple."
Jieyin and Zhunti were greatly startled. Such a clever and perceptive living being had actually been born in their Western Lands.
Before Zhunti could speak, Jieyin seized the initiative. "Since the little friend harbors a heart of compassion, you ought to enter my Western Teach. I possess the Dharma of saving people and can bestow it upon you. Are you willing to take me as your master?"
Maitreya was overjoyed and kowtowed to Jieyin with great excitement.
