Changes began to take place across Wolf Snake Island.
First, the number of monsters in the wild lairs suddenly increased.
Kill one, and another appeared.
It completely defied the usual respawn pattern.
Large numbers of monsters began gathering around every lair.
There were dozens of times more than usual.
Next, the frequency of strange entities appearing at night increased greatly.
In the past, a strange entity might enter a village only once every few weeks or months.
But now, they appeared almost every day, and stayed for much longer.
The sun had not even fully set before a thin fog began to gather in the village.
Some strange entities even wandered through the village in broad daylight.
For a time, the village grew empty and utterly silent.
Only pairs of eyes peered outside from behind the windows, terrified that a strange entity might break into their homes.
The villagers stayed indoors all day, unable to do anything.
They ate dry rations and smoked meat... and nervously endured it all.
For the little children, who knew nothing of true terror yet, it was a rare vacation.
They were shut away in deep cellars, with cotton and straw lining the walls to block out all sound.
Down there, they could play with their toys to their hearts' content and do nothing at all, as long as they didn't make a fuss.
Their mouths were stuffed with candy.
The only consolation was that strange entities and monsters never appeared at the same time. Otherwise, the village would have been overrun at once.
Then, one day...
A giant white wolf, 2.5 meters tall, its skin as if coated in frost, appeared outside the village with a pack of hundreds of wolves.
A game notification sounded simultaneously in
