Background / History

Leng Ning was born only a few days apart from Hu Zixin. Their cultivation initially progressed at a similar pace, but Zixin later pulled ahead; the two became enduring rivals within the Azure Hill Clan. 6

Like Hu Zixin, Leng Ning was drawn to Ye Mo from the time of his birth. Ye Mo's purple eyes and the reaction of the Nine-Tailed Fox Statue led the clan to identify him as the prophesied Young Emperor, while Leng Ning and Zixin became rivals for his affection. 10

She is the daughter of Hu Xue, the Azure Hill Clan's Second Elder and head of its external intelligence organization, Shadows. 14

Martial Soul Awakening

Leng Ning intrudes on Ye Mo while he is changing for the ceremony, then openly challenges Hu Zixin's claim that only Ye Mo's fiancée may be close to him. Their confrontation nearly escalates into a fight before they withdraw their Soul Power for the ceremony. 4 5

Despite their usual hostility, Leng Ning and Hu Zixin stand together to encourage Ye Mo as he approaches the Nine-Tailed Fox Statue. 6 She later notices the profound change in Ye Mo's eyes when the mysterious black-haired girl appears, realizing that he seems unlike the child she had watched grow up. 7

When heavenly lightning descends upon Ye Mo after his third Martial Soul manifests, Leng Ning takes his hand and smiles at him, helping him recognize that he is no longer alone. 8

Star Dou Great Forest Expedition

After overhearing Ye Mo and Hu Zixin's plans, Leng Ning insists on joining their journey to the Star Dou Great Forest. 11 She remains wary of Huo Yuhao, initially suggesting that he should be killed after he is discovered nearby. 12

She stays beside Ye Mo as he absorbs the Sky Dream Ice Silkworm and protects him from interference while his Soul Power rises to level 18. 13

Shrek Academy Decision

Leng Ning opposes Ye Mo's wish to train at Shrek Academy because she fears for his safety, but she is moved by his determination to become strong enough to lead the Azure Hill Clan. 14
