A dream of a white-clad man and Constantine haunted Pompeii, who became obsessed with The King in Yellow and its visions. Zaratul offered Pompeii a potion that would let him enter the dream more deeply, and Pompeii faced the choice of drinking it.

• A messy-haired man dreamed of Constantine asking him to return, then woke from a vision of the child’s death and felt compelled to find him.
• Pompeii spent five days secluded in a hotel suite, growing increasingly unstable as The King in Yellow drew him into recurring dreams of an Unspeakable thing rising from a lake.
• Zaratul appeared before Pompeii, who demanded to know why he could not escape the dream and lamented that he forgot its visions upon waking.
• Zaratul offered Pompeii a strange potion, claiming it was a blessing that could grant power and let him enter the dream more deeply.

Lu Mingfei arrived at the Regent Hotel for a Cassell College interview and ignored Chen Wenwen and Zhao Menghua’s attempts to provoke him. After Zhao Menghua attacked and insulted his parents, Lu Mingfei pinned him to the wall by the throat and threatened to kill him.

• Lu Mingfei reached the executive floor and took a seat outside the conference room, while Little Devil remarked on how much he had changed.
• Chen Wenwen criticized Lu Mingfei for wearing his school uniform and sleeping, but he told her to leave him alone.

Nono confronted Norton outside the palace and realized the Dragon King had already hatched, while Chu Zihang fought Samson in the Bronze Passage. Facing defeat, Chu Zihang entered Deep Blood Burst and transformed into a powerful, brutal form, leaving Samson to recognize that he had chosen the forbidden Path to Godhood.

• Nono felt Norton's Dragon King pressure and prepared to fight him after he challenged her to slay a dragon.
• Samson battered Chu Zihang through the Bronze Passage, leaving him badly wounded and near the limits of his human body.

• Norton attacked Nono with Lord's Flame and awakened the two Bronze Guards to pursue her.
• Nono escaped the guards' halberds, ran down the stairs, and swam across the lake, but the guards hurled their weapons after her.

Norton grieved Constantine’s death, devoured his remains, and awakened as the Bronze and Fire King, causing the Bronze City to melt and collapse. As Nono and Chu Zihang became trapped and injured while fleeing, Professor Manstein appeared in their tunnel.

• Norton found Constantine’s lifeless cocoon and recalled their past and their promise to return to their homeland.

Caesar and the others watched Norton, the Bronze and Fire King, emerge from the boiling river as Manstein declared the Bronze Project a failure and the dragon-slaying campaign underway. Nearby, Lu Mingfei discussed the mission with a teasing companion and said he had faced things more terrifying than a dragon.

• Xia Mi reported that the lakebed temperature was rising, and Caesar worried that the Bronze and Fire King had awakened.
• Manstein brought Nono and Chu Zihang aboard, and he warned that Chu Zihang's Dragon Blood concentration might have crossed the Critical Blood Limit.
