Uesugi Yue defeated Uchiha Madara and escaped Konoha with Odin, Naruto, and Black Zetsu, leaving Sasuke gravely wounded and consumed by hatred. Black Zetsu then brought the captured Naruto to Uchiha Itachi and revealed that the group needed the Rinnegan to extract the Tailed Beasts.

• Madara unleashed a full-power Susanoo strike, but Yue blocked it and pierced Susanoo with a lightning spear, sending Madara crashing into Hokage Rock and devastating much of Konoha.
