"A little trick to guard against villains, not gentlemen. Surely you two won't mind."
Xu Yi spoke with complete calm. What he had planted in the two men was a true-spirit restriction. Unless they encountered a true-spirit technique more powerful than the Three Hearts Two Minds Sword, there was no way to remove it.
And Xu Yi had absolute confidence in the true spirit born from the meaning of profound sorrow.
Neither Mr. Ge nor Dong Xinchang showed the slightest surprise. Clearly, they had expected this all along.
For the two of them, this was already the best possible outcome.
After planting the restrictions, Xu Yi cupped his fist toward Mr. Ge. "Sorry for the trouble." He drifted away with such easy grace that he might truly have been a guest who had merely dropped by, leaving Mr. Ge and Dong Xinchang staring at each other.
"What an impressive Dongshan Prefecture Lord. It's been a long time since someone like him appeared in Zhongshan Prefecture—not to mention Jizhou Territory."
Mr. Ge sighed.
Dong Xinchang stared blankly for a long while. Then he suddenly bowed to Mr. Ge again. "I beg you, Brother Ge, please help me!"
He was in an unbearably awkward position. He had rebelled again and been captured, yet Xu Yi hadn't even stated his position before leaving. He hadn't bothered to deal with Dong Xinchang at all, to the point that Dong Xinchang couldn't even find the feeling of being a prisoner.
Mr. Ge glanced at him. "Put yourself in his shoes."
With that, he disappeared behind the curtain.
Dong Xinchang silently mulled over those four words. The more he did, the more cold sweat streamed down his back.
If their positions had been reversed, if he were Xu Yi, he would never have let himself live.
