Li Jinhuan burst out laughing and walked alongside Xu Yi onto the bluestone path. The path seemed to stretch on forever, one stone vanishing as another appeared. After crossing who knew how many steps, the haze ahead dispersed, revealing a grand red doorway. A plaque hung above it, bearing four characters: Sacred Treasure Hall.
What a bold and arrogant name.
Xu Yi thought to himself.
Just then, two squads of armored soldiers surged out. Their ranks were disorderly, and some were human while others were demons. As soon as they had assembled, the soldiers shouted in unison, "Li Jinhuan of Jiangbei Earth God Palace, announce your name before entering!"
Li Jinhuan's expression changed dramatically. Staring at the pitch-black entrance, he called out, "Brother Huang, what is the meaning of this? Are you trying to humiliate me?"
Xu Yi laughed. "Brother Li, you're worrying too much. I think Brother Huang simply wants to play a little game with you. Come on, Brother Li." As he spoke, he seized Li Jinhuan and strode forward.
The two squads of soldiers immediately changed color. They shouted in unison and slammed their weapons down on the bluestone path. Killing intent surged toward them.
"See, Brother Li? They're welcoming us."
With that, Xu Yi swept out a hand. Both squads of soldiers went flying, crashing down on rocks at varying distances, covered in dust and looking thoroughly miserable.
Xu Yi blurred forward, pulling Li Jinhuan into the hall.
The hall was packed with guests: demons, fiends, and wicked creatures gathered together for a drinking feast. A troupe of alluring dancers had also been brought in to perform martial arts. But they had clearly heard the commotion outside. Now, both the music and dance had stopped, and every gaze was fixed on Xu Yi and Li Jinhuan.
