Empress Houtu watched as the young Daoist's cultivation broke through to the level of True Person in this era, as naturally and inevitably as water flowing into a channel. A True Person's spirit was complete and his qi was abundant; his body was light and vigorous, his blessings and lifespan prolonged. He could enter water without drowning and fire without burning. When ordinary people broke through, they all meditated and refined their qi, entering seclusion for a hundred years.
For a disciple of the Yuqing line, a direct disciple of the Three Pure Dao Ancestors, or a disciple of the Four Imperial Sovereigns, unless they were a primordial being,
this stage required them to quiet their minds, meditate, take pills and consume qi, and focus their thoughts until they achieved a breakthrough. This had nothing to do with their masters; cultivating the Dao meant cultivating oneself. Those who could break through so naturally were few and far between. Empress Houtu was surprised by this, and then Primordial Ying Yuanjun smiled and said:
"He broke through by doing without through deliberate action."
"His path to the Three Flowers Gathering at the Crown should go rather smoothly from here."
Primordial Ying Yuanjun nodded slightly. "It should."
"Once this True Person realm is firmly established, he'll be a true True Person. If he has Immortal Destiny, he can receive the Heavenly Emperor's Edict and serve as an immortal official in heaven. He'll be able to partake of pills, flat peaches, and the like, prolonging his lifespan. Even without reaching the Human Immortal realm of the Three Flowers Gathering at the Crown, living for a thousand or two thousand years is nothing unusual."
"However, his foundation was already badly damaged. It should take ten years of cultivation to stabilize his realm."
