"Fine, but I, Lei, have never dealt with people who hide their heads and show only their tails." As Lei Dong used his divine sense to rally the troops, whose formation had grown somewhat scattered, he stood with his hands behind his back, looking supremely self-assured. "King of Dawn, if you're truly sincere, come out and speak to me face-to-face. If you don't even have that much bearing, you might as well find yourself a cool place to hide away sooner rather than later."
"Hmph, brat, don't try to provoke me. If you anger me, don't blame me for ignoring the consequences and leaving every last one of you here." As he spoke, a faint ripple spread from the entrance to the Side Hall. The King of Dawn gradually appeared, tall and slender, clad in ornate, resplendent white armor. Behind him stood a group of White Armored Soldiers, gathered around him like stars around the moon. Their auras were remarkably powerful; clearly, they were elite among the elite, each one possessing the strength of a Nascent Soul Peak cultivator.
White Armored Soldiers of this caliber could just barely hold their own for a dozen or twenty moves against an Early Spirit Transmutation expert, even one-on-one. Those at Nascent Soul Peak were, in theory, only one step away from Spirit Transmutation. Yet taking that step was incredibly difficult.
Throughout history, countless people had reached Nascent Soul Peak, but fewer than one in several dozen had truly ascended to Spirit Transmutation.
Of course, even in the eyes of Spirit Transmutation experts, those at Nascent Soul Peak still counted as figures of some importance. They took effort to deal with; it wasn't as though one could simply slap them dead.
So the King of Dawn's boldness in stepping to the front wasn't foolishness.
