The Nether King Banner

"Give me a break. Do you take me for some saintly maiden who goes around helping people?" The woman's voice, thick with violent fury, erupted in complaint. Even so, she had no choice but to let her true form—a banner refined from some unknown material—emerge from Lei Dong's soul. It shimmered between real and illusory as it spread over him.

With a deafening boom, the heavenly lightning struck the banner without mercy. That banner, which had appeared out of nowhere, blocked most of the force capable of destroying heaven and earth. Only a small portion struck Lei Dong. Fortunately, he still had the Black Emperor Armor. In the end, the destructive power of the tribulation lightning that Lei Dong endured amounted to only one or two tenths of its full strength.

Even so, some of the life factors that had just been reborn inside Lei Dong were blasted to pieces. The Nether King Body Tempering Art, however, remained as loyal as ever, tirelessly helping Lei Dong rebuild every part of his body.

"Damn the Heavenly Dao, damn the Will of the Universe! I'm only crossing a Void Refinement tribulation. Why is the lightning so powerful, and why does it have an Annihilation Attribute? Your great-aunt's in agony!" The strange, violent voice complained again in Lei Dong's mind. "You brat, you brat! How could you possibly be the new master of someone as great as me?"

"Huh?" Ji Ziyan, floating in midair, was no ordinary person. Her sharp eyes could see through every illusion. Through the layers of tribulation clouds lit by flashes of lightning, she clearly saw the black banner-like object floating over Lei Dong. It seemed vaguely familiar. She examined it closely, and her expression abruptly changed. "That's the Nether King Banner! Hadn't this thing vanished without a trace?"
