If Doji hadn't been there, White Bone Devil Lord might have had a slim chance of escaping, even though he was no match for more than ten thousand Swift Shadow Insects. But Doji himself was a formidable opponent, no weaker than White Bone Devil Lord. No matter how many strange tricks White Bone Devil Lord pulled out or how many of his treasured trump cards he revealed, every attempt to break through was driven back, and he remained trapped.

Deep beneath several yards of gravel, Lei Dong lay like a stone, sunk in a deathlike slumber. He had no idea that an earth-shaking battle was raging overhead. Of course, under normal circumstances, a Nascent Soul Cultivator fighting for his life would probably lay waste to an area thousands of miles across. But with the Anti-air Formation in place, White Bone Devil Lord was like an eagle stripped of its wings, trapped in this tiny corner.

Doji had tried to persuade White Bone Devil Lord to surrender several times, but the old devil had refused. Judging by his bearing, even if he died in battle, he would never tolerate abandoning his dignity and surrendering to the Alien Race. White Bone Devil Lord was truly impressive, though. Even in such a desperate situation, he paid the price of injury to quickly set up an array with a set of formation flags. The resulting illusion formation was fairly effective, and for a time, it left Doji at a loss.

Unfortunately, faced with the powerful swarm and Doji, renowned for his brute strength, the makeshift illusion formation could hold out for only a few days at most. Seated cross-legged within it, White Bone Devil Lord replenished the formation even as it devoured Top Grade Spirit Stones, constantly forming hand seals to mend its flaws.
