I have to dodge!
Seeing Luffy run toward him, Enel paled in terror. He braced his bloodied, battered body with the golden staff in his hand.
Why can he hit me?! No, I have to dodge, or he'll kill me!
Whoosh!
Luffy suddenly appeared right in front of him, but this time things didn't go as smoothly as before. Before Luffy could even throw a punch, Enel began dodging to the side!
"Rubber Jet Pistol!" Luffy glared furiously at Enel, one hand held out flat while he drew back the other arm. His fist shot forward like a jet plane taking off.
Bam!
The attack didn't slam into Enel as Luffy had expected, nor did Enel manage to dodge it as he'd hoped.
The fist grazed Enel's shoulder, staggering him, then crashed into the deck and smashed a hole in it. Splinters flew everywhere.
"Damn it, why is he so fast?!"
He'd sensed the attack, but dodging it was difficult!
Grimacing, Enel swung his staff and braced it against Luffy, about to push him away. Then he sensed something at once.
He's going to kick me in the stomach!
Enel frantically twisted his body, but just as he began to react, Luffy's foot struck him. It still caught him with half its sole, sending him spinning through the air.
Crackle!
Crackle! Enel tumbled through the air, panic on his face. He transformed into a flickering arc of electricity, and when he reappeared, he was atop the giant golden Buddha's head.
Clenching his teeth, his brow furrowed as he stared down. Why could the other man hit him? That was one thing—but the real problem was how fast he was!
Even with Mantra, dodging was difficult. His lightning form could move faster than his opponent, but his reactions couldn't keep up.
