Akainu glared at Luffy. His lower body transformed into erupting magma, propelling him forward at high speed. When he was dozens of meters away, he punched through the air.
The swelling lava formed a monstrous dog's head. Its deep, dark-red surface held terrifying heat as it opened its vicious jaws and lunged down to bite.
I can't block this guy's attacks head-on.
Luffy's brow furrowed as he thought to himself, and he quickly jumped backward.
His hands still stung from blocking Akainu's previous attack. Fortunately, he'd used Haki to defend himself right away. Otherwise, his hands might have melted.

The magma hound slammed into the ground and burst apart, spraying lava in every direction. As if it were alive, the lava surged up into a burning, dark-red wave that rushed toward Luffy.

the whole street was blanketed in flowing magma, as if a volcanic eruption had washed over it. Steam billowed upward, heating the air until it was scorching.
