"BOSS, you really are ruthless!"
The group wound their way to the laboratory where Devil Fruits were extracted. In the lounge, Betty looked at Chaos, who was sitting on the sofa and drinking coffee like the fool he was.
As for Toki, she had already been taken into a sealed chamber made entirely of Seastone.
Caesar had invented something like a sleeping pill. After someone took it, they would die in their sleep, without pain or awareness.
The reason Betty was teasing him was that Toki was a delicate beauty.
She had given birth to two children, but her curves were still in all the right places. She even had a peach-like allure that ordinary women lacked. To men, she was a hundred percent lethal.
Yet their BOSS had sentenced that woman to death without even blinking.
It wasn't that Betty was sticking up for her. She wasn't exactly a kind, innocent woman herself.
She knew full well that Chaos wasn't the kind of man who lost his head over a pretty woman. Still, couldn't he show at least a little reaction?
He was just too cold.
"Since when did you become so kind?"
Chaos was briefly taken aback, but he quickly understood what Betty meant. He gave her a strange look, scanning her up and down.
"A beauty like that, and you don't have any thoughts?"
"There's still time, you know!"
Betty leaned in, blinking her big eyes as if trying to tempt Chaos into sin.
"I'm more interested in the Time-Time Fruit than in a pretty woman."
"Besides, women will only get in the way of my grand B-plan."
Chaos continued sipping his coffee, completely unfazed. He'd been in this world for so many years; he'd long since accepted reality.
Women had never been Chaos's main pursuit.
