"Another failure."

Half an hour later, the giant golden snow lotus on the street exploded, shooting into the sky before disappearing. All that remained were Paper Man Ilango, who was thoroughly dead, and some black fruit cloth.

Chaos downed the red wine in his glass.

Fortunately, his expectations hadn't been high, so he wasn't too disappointed.

"Boss, what do you mean, 'another failure'?"

Crocodile's curiosity had been piqued again.

First Invisible Person Goyatrans, and now Paper Man Ilango. His instincts told him Chaos was keeping something from him.

Otherwise, why go to so much trouble just to kill someone? It was completely unnecessary.

The man could be a bit of a weirdo sometimes, but these two incidents were clearly different.

"Want to know?"

Chaos raised an eyebrow.

"Forget it if you don't want to tell me."

Crocodile did want to know, but with his pride, he'd never ask outright.

Chaos couldn't be bothered to explain. He still didn't trust Crocodile all that much.

The man had the potential to turn traitor.

There were some things he couldn't share wholeheartedly just yet.

So he changed the subject. "Get a good night's sleep. Things probably won't be safe tomorrow."

Chaos lit another cigar. As he smoked, he looked out at the battered street, where quite a few pirates were keeping an eye on him, openly or otherwise.

More precisely, they were watching the glittering golden dining table and the chair beneath him.

Crocodile's expression darkened. He gave a soft snort to show his displeasure, but Chaos didn't give a damn.

As the sun sank in the west, Chaos finished eating and took Crocodile for a stroll around the island. This time, no clueless pirates came looking for trouble.

After all, even Invisible Person Goyatrans and Paper Man Ilango had died.
