In the original story, Big Mom had created a Homie out of a giant wave.

The sea countered Devil Fruit users, but it didn't counter attacks they unleashed.

Take Aokiji, for example. He only lost his Devil Fruit powers if his body touched seawater. His ability to freeze things could still freeze the ocean. There was a fundamental difference.

If Big Mom could make a giant wave into a Homie, there was no reason he couldn't do it too.

"BOSS, you sure know how to dream big!"

Betty glanced at Baccarat and Caesar, but neither tried to claim it.

Baccarat already had Napoleon, and she firmly believed the next one would be even better, so she didn't compete for it.

If they really succeeded in creating a seawater Homie, it would be a lethal weapon against Devil Fruit users on the ocean. But the strong could still find ways to deal with it.

If they ran into Aokiji, they'd be done for.

Besides, if they fought on land, its combat strength would probably be greatly reduced.

Betty already had Geb, with the power to control mountains and the earth. Now, with a seawater Homie too, she'd have no weaknesses on land or sea.
