"So, where did you get this thing?"

Fu Qian pointed at the item in the Duchess's hand.

After all the Dragon Blood had been poured out, it had turned into an ordinary Pocket Watch.

"It's a holy relic of the Church."

The Duchess replied expressionlessly.

"You stole it from the Church?"

Fu Qian realized at once that this woman really was ruthless and decisive.

"Making good use of what's at hand."

The Duchess said nothing more and simply tossed the Pus Stone over to him.

"Leave as soon as you can."

"The leader of the people below is named Corison. That man's a sadist, so be sure to avoid him."

Perhaps she was worried Fu Qian might flee at the last moment. After giving her instructions, the Duchess thoughtfully "escorted" him all the way to the bell tower.

She finally stopped only after Fu Qian disappeared through the door.

In the darkness, Fu Qian descended the stairs and soon found the hooded robe and mask he had discarded earlier.

After putting them on, Fu Qian quickly recalled the layout of the prison.

According to the priest, the jailers' Awakened abilities had left them with slowed reactions as an unavoidable side effect.

That explained how he had escaped so easily.

He was a different man now, and in theory, he should be able to handle things with even greater ease.

The only problem was where to find his target.

"The deepest part of the prison" was a rather broad definition.

By then, Fu Qian had reached the walkway again.

He repeated his old trick, dodging the jailers as he swiftly made his way down. Before long, he had reached the lowest level of the prison.

This level was still enormous. In the middle, he could see a huge pit.
