He really was quick to react!

Faced with Bernard's question, Fu Qian nodded to himself.

This man really did seem to have seen a lot.

Indeed, the odds that Sheriff Harry had come to buy a book were practically zero. It seemed those people really had told him about the "assassin."

"I'm used to taking walks at night."

Beneath Bernard's dead-fish eyes, Fu Qian casually offered a reply.

Creak!

The bookstore door had just been pushed open. Sheriff Harry walked in, his massive frame dimming the light in the shop.

As soon as he entered, his gaze immediately locked onto Fu Qian.

"Enjoying your vacation, Mr. Fu Qian?"

"Very much."

Fu Qian smiled as he answered Harry's emotionless greeting.

Harry had probably seen him come in just now.

"That's good."

Harry nodded, pulled out a sheet of paper, and flicked it open in front of Fu Qian.

"Have you seen this man? He should have an injury on his right hand."

Huh!

Fu Qian looked at the portrait in Harry's hand. Old Man Lu Ming's face leaped off the page.

He had to admit, the drawing was pretty good. The people at the banquet really were talented; they'd managed to draw this much from memory alone.

"I haven't seen him."

Fu Qian shook his head as he mused over it. Beside him, Bernard also gave a snort, indicating that he had never seen the person in the portrait either.

Mm.

Sheriff Harry didn't seem surprised. He put the portrait away.

"I'm investigating an attempted poisoning. We've more or less confirmed that this outsider was responsible. If you see him, be sure to notify me immediately."

"No problem."

"All right!"

Fu Qian and Bernard both replied listlessly.

"Good!"

Sheriff Harry praised them, then pointed at Fu Qian.

"You. Come with me."
