"Don't talk nonsense. It's true we were near there yesterday, but Li Min was with me the whole time. When would she have had the chance to kill someone?"
In the room, Fu Qian listened to Rachel's tirade with a blank expression. It was obvious she was furious.
After returning with Roland just now, he'd quickly realized that the trio from the earlier ritual was already waiting.
With Teresa's death reported, Roland had gathered everyone together.
And after he'd quickly explained the situation, the reaction had been intense, to say the least.
"The Night Watchers only reported that Teresa may have died from prolonged burning."
Rachel was spitting as she yelled at him, but Roland didn't seem to mind. He simply spoke at an unhurried pace.
"You don't need to get so worked up. I only asked you here to understand what happened. I never said Li Min definitely did it."
"After all, there are many ways to achieve a similar effect."
"Hmph!"
Rachel jerked her head to the side.
It was obvious she was deeply unhappy at the mere suspicion being cast on her best friend.
"So the Night Watchers currently think Teresa's death is connected to the accident at the stone tower?"
Shang Shiming frowned, carefully considering his words.
This unexpected complication had clearly caught him completely off guard.
"They do seem to have their suspicions."
Roland narrowed his eyes as he looked at Shang Shiming.
"After all, the timing is just too convenient. Of course, I personally don't believe that theory."
Shang Shiming had asked someone to help with a ritual, and then the stone tower had collapsed right afterward. It was impossible not to draw a connection.
But Roland hadn't asked him a single direct question, which clearly meant he didn't want to dig into it.
