Ch. 41You Still Haven't Realized How Serious the Problem Is

Fu Qian convinced the group that entering the ruins might erase them from everyone’s memories outside, leaving rescue impossible. Li Weixuan led the shaken team deeper into the ruins, where they encountered enormous centipedes made of human skulls.

  • Fu Qian argued that the group had to explore the ruins, while Yuan Xin and Huang Zhaoyan urged them to wait for help.
  • Fu Qian claimed that entering the ruins erased people from the memories of everyone outside, and his warning silenced the group.
  • Li Weixuan ordered everyone to follow him into the ruins, and no one objected.
  • Li Weixuan led the way, cutting down hair monsters and savage hands with his sword as the group advanced.
  • The group found the ruins packed with buildings and encountered enormous white centipedes whose bodies were made of human skulls.

Ch. 42Blood Puppet

Li Weixuan fought the old man controlled by the blood pool while Fu Qian discovered that his blood remained separate from it and flowed toward the man. After Li Weixuan destroyed the pool’s blood pillar and freed him, the old man remembered that he was Feng Yunhong, the Academy’s Fourth Dean.

  • Li Weixuan reached the center of the ruins and found an old man suspended above a living pool of dark red blood.
  • The old man attacked Li Weixuan with a halberd, and Li Weixuan ordered the exploration team to retreat before fighting back.
  • Fu Qian poured his blood into the pool and saw it float on the surface before flowing toward the old man.
  • Li Weixuan attacked the blood pillar supporting the old man and tore it apart, freeing him from the pool.
  • The old man thanked Li Weixuan, admitted he could not remember how he had become trapped, then recognized the Academy’s students and identified himself as Feng Yunhong, its Fourth Dean.

Ch. 43They Realized How Serious the Problem Was

Li Weixuan and the others learned that Feng Yunhong had been trapped in the ruin for nearly a century, while Fu Qian deduced the place erased outsiders’ memories of those who entered. Fu Qian threw a bloodied finger into Feng Yunhong, transforming him, and warned everyone to run as Feng Yunhong exploded in a burst of flesh and force.

  • Feng Yunhong claimed he had once been the Academy’s fourth dean, but Li Weixuan said his grandfather Li He held that position and had never heard of Feng Yunhong.
  • Li Weixuan told Feng Yunhong that the ruin’s victims were forgotten by the outside world, and Fu Qian explained his theory about the place.
  • Feng Yunhong said he had been trapped for nearly a hundred years and that the ruin had swallowed other powerful beings who wandered in.
  • Fu Qian threw a bloodied finger into Feng Yunhong, and it melted into his body as his face twisted into an inhuman grin.
  • Fu Qian told everyone to run as Feng Yunhong exploded, unleashing a violent force over the group.

Ch. 44Do You Know What Ambergris Is?

Feng Yunhong blew himself up, killing most of the exploration team, while Fu Qian realized Feng Yunhong had been formed from powerful Transcendents the furnace could not digest. As the survivors questioned Fu Qian, he intimidated them and left them facing a blood-red figure forming in the pool.

  • Feng Yunhong exploded, and Li Weixuan sacrificed himself to shield Ji Liushuang and the others while most of the exploration team died.
  • Fu Qian watched the remains flow into the blood pool and realized Feng Yunhong had absorbed powerful Transcendents, with Li Weixuan now being consumed to form another Feng Yunhong.
  • Ji Liushuang and five others survived, and Yuan Xin demanded to know how Fu Qian had understood Feng Yunhong's scheme.
  • Ji Liushuang stopped Yuan Xin from pressing Fu Qian, but Fu Qian released his killing intent and reminded the survivors that they had no power to force him to answer.
  • Fu Qian watched a blood-red humanoid figure take shape in the pool and asked Ji Liushuang whether she knew what ambergris was.

Ch. 45The Contest

Fu Qian entered the blood pool and attacked Feng Yunhong, aiming to disrupt his plan to become an indigestible object and escape the furnace. As the fight raged, Huang Zhaoyan and the others joined them to absorb the blood and gain strength.

  • Fu Qian explained that Dragon Saliva Incense formed when a whale expelled an indigestible object, and suspected Feng Yunhong was using the same principle to escape the furnace.
  • Fu Qian dismissed Ji Liushuang and the others' hopes of escape, then jumped into the blood pool and tore off his right arm to absorb its blood.
  • Feng Yunhong rose from the pool and tried to stop Fu Qian, revealing that he had spent years preparing to become too large for the furnace to contain.
  • Feng Yunhong grabbed Fu Qian by the throat, but Fu Qian attacked his internal organs and made the blood pool shake as Feng Yunhong screamed.
  • Huang Zhaoyan jumped into the pool to absorb its blood, and the others followed him toward the center.

Ch. 46I Only Race Against Time

Fu Qian defeated Feng Yunhong by swallowing the blood pool and his blood-form, leaving himself dangerously overloaded with blood and qi. He set off toward the barrier, intending to test whether he could escape before Feng Yunhong and the other trapped voices destroyed him from within.

  • Ji Liushuang remembered Fu Qian’s warning and stayed on the bank as Huang Zhaoyan, Yuan Xin, and three others were caught by tentacles in the blood pool.
  • Fu Qian used Internal Organ Critical Hit on Feng Yunhong, then wounded himself and swallowed huge amounts of blood to weaken his opponent.
  • Fu Qian struck Feng Yunhong back into his blood form and swallowed him, while the remaining blood restored Fu Qian’s wounds and severed limbs.
  • Feng Yunhong and the other voices inside Fu Qian threatened to wait for his body to explode, but Fu Qian walked toward the barrier and proposed that they would all be annihilated if he escaped.

Ch. 47Dark Night Liu Shuang

Fu Qian forced his way out of the ruins’ barrier, but his damaged soul caused the mission to fail and sent him back to the Warehouse. Ji Liushuang asked him to visit Silver Mist Manor and pass along a greeting to Ji Xue, while Fu Qian received credit for killing Zhao Ran and twenty-seven other Transcendents.

  • Fu Qian refused to rescue the people trapped in the blood pool and invited Ji Liushuang to watch him escape.
  • Fu Qian and Ji Liushuang walked through the ruins as the creatures kept their distance, then Fu Qian reached the barrier and found he could pass through it.
  • Ji Liushuang told Fu Qian about the night-blooming flowers at Silver Mist Manor and asked him to greet Ji Xue for her.
  • Fu Qian squeezed through the barrier, but a notification said his soul was incomplete, and his body disintegrated as the scene shattered.
  • Fu Qian returned to the Warehouse, where the mission was marked failed and he learned he had killed Zhao Ran and twenty-seven Transcendents.

Ch. 48Feast

Fu Qian activated Feast and discovered it let him freely transform his body. After reviewing the containment failure, he spotted a mark on the Blood Faces that suggested Feng Yunhong could suppress his mental breakdown, then entered the scene again and moved ahead alone.

  • Fu Qian tried Clear Dream, equipped the ring, and activated Feast despite its irreversible effect.
  • Fu Qian discovered Feast let him reshape parts of his body instantly without them falling apart.
  • Fu Qian used Incident Replay to find a rotating four-hand mark on the Blood Faces released when Feng Yunhong exploded, and suspected Feng Yunhong had a way to suppress his breakdown.
  • Fu Qian touched the Mist Door and re-entered the containment scene with Yuan Xin and the others.
  • Fu Qian ignored Yuan Xin and went ahead to scout, dodging black spikes that sprang from behind a broken wall.

Ch. 49You Are the Legendary Dean Feng

Fu Qian pretended to recognize and rescue Feng Yunhong, then used the names of trapped supernatural beings to unsettle him. After Feng Yunhong vanished, Fu Qian followed him beneath the blood pool and found him seated in a strange underground structure.

  • Fu Qian met Feng Yunhong at the blood pool and claimed he had come to rescue the missing dean.
  • Fu Qian mentioned Shui Jing and Chi Hesheng’s cries for help, making Feng Yunhong urge him to leave.
  • Fu Qian doubled back after leaving, expecting his warning about Li Weixuan to pressure Feng Yunhong into acting.
  • Fu Qian returned to find Feng Yunhong gone and an opening beneath the blood pool.
  • Fu Qian jumped into the underground structure and found Feng Yunhong sitting amid wailing figures in a spiral-shaped room.

Ch. 50The Madman

Fu Qian fought Feng Yunhong to reactivate the Transcendents’ suppressed consciousnesses and exploit the resulting chaos. Feng Yunhong’s body and mind began to twist under the strain, but he lunged for Fu Qian’s neck as the battle continued.

  • Fu Qian watched Feng Yunhong use the stone seat to suppress the wailing Transcendents, then approached as their faces faded beneath Feng Yunhong’s skin.
  • Feng Yunhong revealed that he had noticed Fu Qian and attacked him with his halberd, while Fu Qian pressed in at close range.
  • Fu Qian struck Feng Yunhong with a scarlet whip, stirring the restlessness within him and destabilizing the suppressed consciousnesses.
  • Feng Yunhong wounded Fu Qian repeatedly and nearly severed his neck, but Fu Qian survived by using Feast to grow a new head.
  • Fu Qian kept lashing Feng Yunhong, intensifying the wailing and twisting his body, until Feng Yunhong dropped his halberd and grabbed for Fu Qian’s neck.

Ch. 51The Stone Throne as a Tranquilizer?

Fu Qian sat on the stone throne and discovered that its mental assault connected him to the furnace and the ruin. When Feng Yunhong attacked, the throne’s power disintegrated him and drew the gathered Transcendents’ flesh and blood into a vortex around Fu Qian.

  • Fu Qian evaded Feng Yunhong’s attack until Feng Yunhong detonated himself, then watched him begin to regenerate.
  • Fu Qian sat on the stone throne, endured its crushing flow of information, and realized Feng Yunhong had used it to suppress the other Transcendents’ consciousnesses.
  • Fu Qian sat on the throne again and let the voices wash over him, sensing his spirit merge with the ruin and seeing Ji Liushuang and the others under attack.
  • Feng Yunhong recovered, seized his halberd, and attacked Fu Qian, but an invisible vortex caught the weapon and froze him.
  • The throne’s power disintegrated Feng Yunhong and drew blood faces and flesh from him into a vortex that replenished Fu Qian and shielded him from the throne’s assault.

Ch. 52Seeing Without Seeing (Angel of Peace Complete)

Fu Qian absorbed the furnace’s vortex and became connected to its rules, then opened a passage through the barrier for the trapped survivors. The group escaped, while Ji Liushuang forgot why she had left a marker for Fu Qian.

  • Fu Qian overwhelmed Feng Yunhong with a mental assault, absorbed the vortex, and left Feng Yunhong’s halberd beside the stone seat.
  • Fu Qian discovered he could merge with the furnace and pass unnoticed by its monsters and the trapped people.
  • Fu Qian found Ji Liushuang and the others searching the furnace’s edge for an exit, and heard Ji Liushuang argue that they should look for him.
  • Fu Qian opened a passage through the barrier and called to Ji Liushuang, who sensed the opening and found it.
  • Li Weixuan and Ji Liushuang led the group through the passage, and Ji Liushuang left a marker for Fu Qian before forgetting why she had made it.

Ch. 53Forced Rest

After completing his mission, Fu Qian gained mental resistance and was ordered to take three days off from the Warehouse. While enjoying his break at home and in his apartment complex, he attracted the attention of Qin Mingze and an unidentified woman who arrived in a sports car.

  • Fu Qian received no new kill credit for the mission but advanced his Outlaw assimilation to 2/3 and gained stronger resistance to mental attacks.
  • The Warehouse forced Fu Qian to take three days off after four consecutive workdays, and he returned home.
  • Fu Qian spent his first day off relaxing in the sun at his apartment complex, where the elderly residents began spreading rumors about him.
  • On his second day off, a red sports car drove into the complex and stopped in front of Fu Qian.
  • A woman in sunglasses asked if Fu Qian was the person they sought, and Qin Mingze confirmed that he was.

Ch. 54True Art Had to Touch the Soul

Fu Qian used the Dream Ring to avoid posing as Tan Ying’s nude model by manipulating her and Qin Mingze inside a dream. The dream ended with Tan Ying abandoning the idea of drawing Qin Mingze in a dress.

  • Tan Ying arrived with Qin Mingze and demanded that Fu Qian pose as a model after discovering Qin Mingze had passed off Fu Qian’s photo as his own body.
  • Qin Mingze explained that Tan Ying was blackmailing him into finding the real owner of the body in the photo, and Fu Qian agreed to pose.
  • Fu Qian activated the Dream Ring and found that he could influence the dream and make its occupants more susceptible to his words.
  • Fu Qian persuaded Tan Ying that true art had to explore the clash between body and spirit, then convinced Qin Mingze to wear a black pleated skirt to take responsibility for the mess.
  • Tan Ying saw Qin Mingze in the dress, concluded her artistic sensibilities were not good enough, and gave up on drawing him.

Ch. 55The Omen Must Die

  • Su Gao recognized Fu Qian, thanked him for his help during their previous operation, and learned he had come to deal with the Ill Omen.
  • Lu Jun apologized to Fu Qian and explained that the victim, Geng Yue, had been waiting for someone who never arrived; Su Gao cautioned that they could not yet confirm the Ill Omen was responsible.
  • Fu Qian advised the Night Watchers to investigate the person who missed the reservation as well as Geng Yue’s husband, prompting him to tease Lu Jun about his naïve assumptions about marriage.
  • Su Gao told Fu Qian that she had joined the Execution Yan Group and tracked the Ill Omen to the city, but the Night Watchers knew little about the killer’s identity or whereabouts.
  • Fu Qian wondered what disaster his mission referred to and how it was connected to the Ill Omen.

Ch. 58Ill Omen Must Die (4)

Fu Qian and Su Gao visited the Night Watcher base in Xiyuan City to investigate Ill Omen, whose attacks on transcendentals were growing more frequent. After learning that the local Huang Family dominated the city’s transcendent population, Fu Qian decided to visit them.

  • Su Gao and Fu Qian arrived at the Xiyuan City Night Watcher base, where Captain Qiao reported that the latest killing was certainly done by a transcendent but could not yet be attributed to Ill Omen.
  • Su Gao obtained the confidential Ill Omen files and gave them to Fu Qian, who found records of brutal killings and learned the criminal had attacked Xiyuan City before.

  • Lu Jun reported that Lu Xing had seemed like an ordinary man with a good marriage, but Fu Qian insisted on visiting him.
