Judging by their reactions, my "knowledge" probably wasn't warped.
As I successfully activated the glove's power and formed a Resonance Spike, I didn't forget to watch how everyone reacted.
As it turned out, nobody looked surprised. In fact, I could even see what seemed like approval of my execution in Lady Ess's eyes.
Meanwhile, the native lying on the ground had arched its body backward, like a cheetah about to pounce.
From this angle, I could see that the parts that had been pinned beneath it were completely fused with its clothes. It looked like a living corpse that had been rotting for who knew how many years.
Even so, I spotted an eye pattern with no pupils on its black robe, similar to the one I'd seen earlier.
It really was a native, but what a pity.
I didn't know what had turned it into this, but it was obvious that a cheetah couldn't answer questions.
With a regretful sigh, I didn't keep the team waiting. I aimed the spike, now condensed to its peak, and hurled it.
Maybe because it had only just awakened, the living corpse wasn't very agile. A flash of golden light, and the spike landed a direct hit to its head.
I took a hit to the head, too.
In that instant, it felt as if someone had poured molten iron into my skull. A blazing heat shot straight up, and I could almost smell the aroma of brain matter in my nostrils.
Wasn't that a bit too much recoil?
And would this sort of mental shock even work on living corpses that might not have any wits left?
Savoring the enticing aroma of intelligence, I kept my hand raised, ready to fire another shot at any moment.
Apparently, it really did work.
