The suspicious parts of his character were becoming more and more obvious.
He just didn't know whether, in the Sage's eyes, his mind had been influenced by the puzzle, or whether he was an agent of some malicious faction.
"I've done my part. Could I go get some rest?"
After successfully spooking everyone with a performance that showed not the slightest side effect, Fu Qian blinked and took the initiative to ask for a chance to rest.
Did he look like he needed to rest?
As the others struggled to hold back their urge to complain, the Sage slowly nodded.
"Thanks for the effort."
Thanks to Fu Qian's rope-tightening antics, the team reached the invisible bridge much earlier than last time.
In the middle of the group, walking alongside Ess, he once again settled into a perfectly reasonable bout of slacking off.
The only exception was that, before the Sage said anything, he had glanced toward the invisible bridge.
Clang! Clang!
After the Sage gave the signal, Round Card carefully made his way to the end of the invisible bridge, where he met a fate almost identical to last time: two claws slapped down on his shield in unison.
A little farther away, the third living corpse threw out a Resonance Spike and successfully killed himself.
So they really can't control minds?
Watching the scene, Fu Qian silently drew a conclusion.
The two visits had taken place at different times, yet the living corpses had been just as active both times. That was enough to show they weren't being controlled by the Holy Grail.
Their attacks were purely instinctive reactions to being disturbed.
All the Holy Grail had done was imbue them with abilities it had copied.
It only passed on knowledge without brainwashing anyone. What a pure authority
