The waiter closed the door behind him. Fu Qian looked at the four familiar faces in the room and greeted them casually.
"So what was so urgent that you had to call me over?"
"Was I interrupting you?"
Young Master Qin, looking even more dashing than he had a few days ago, nudged the seat beside him and asked with a hint of meaning in his tone.
"That depends on how you define it."
As Qin Mingze asked, the others, Tan Ying among them, couldn't help looking over. Fu Qian sat down without hesitation.
"When I got your call, I was listening to Grandma Liu, my neighbor, give me a long and earnest lecture."
"You went off to hang out at some old folks' club again..."
Young Master Qin frowned at that and couldn't help glancing out the window.
"And the sun's already set. Don't these grandparents need to go home and cook dinner for their grandkids or something?"
"That's what I thought at first, so I didn't hurry off. But my naïve thinking meant I had to listen for another half hour."
With a long sigh, Fu Qian slumped into his seat, recalling the day's ordeal.
That's right. The reason the sun had set again was that, after deciding to take a short break, he'd successfully spent an entire day doing nothing.
