"I can't pin down its exact nature, but it's obvious something is building up inside you, constantly."
At close range, the Dark Moon Pope's powers of insight were terrifyingly sharp.
As she suggested leaving, the Witch had already laid out all the items they'd collected in front of her, while looking Fu Qian up and down.
"Is this the price of coming here?"
"Yes. I gained this ability after digesting another Supernatural Item the same way I did the mask. When I take the form of a nightmare worm, I can somehow cross barriers."
Fu Qian didn't bother with pointless concealment and told her frankly how he had traveled.
"The price is that on the way back, I have to pass through an exit called the Nightmare Corridor. The longer I stay, the worse the trouble I'll face later."
"I can certainly feel that it's connected to nightmares."
The Witch listened intently and gave a slight nod.
"It really is a wondrous ability. At least, I can't see anything that could help me cross that barrier... And it's obvious you have quite a collection."
Changing the subject, she looked down at the dazzling array of tools on the table and fell silent for a moment.
Whether it was his rapidly rising rank or these items, each with a different kind of power, it was easy to imagine the dangers he had faced to obtain them.
"Give me your hand."
But she didn't waste time on pointless words. The next moment, the Witch gestured for Fu Qian to come closer.
By now, he had taken on a fairly human shape. Without asking why, he extended his only right hand.
Some of the rings were on the table, but the ones he still wore gleamed together, their flashy display only slightly diminished.
