Human Planter (31)
Finding the source of the crying was still the mission's goal for now, and it didn't conflict with this group of survivors in any way.
Even so, continuing to act as part of the team didn't seem to be the only option.
It was simple. If the power of consensus was so strong, couldn't they capitalize on the momentum and focus entirely on scaring people?
Could they ultimately use the group's consensus to push themselves from demigods all the way to divine envoys and New Gods, forging an invincible fighting force?
It was a beautiful and audacious idea.
In fact, the thought had already occurred to Fu Qian when he first realized the possibility that the mind could triumph over matter.
But one of the greatest benefits of putting theory into practice was that theory could be continually refined and revised as a result.
The moment he had just unlocked the demigod rank, Fu Qian realized that such an overly idealistic scenario probably wasn't feasible.
The reason was simple: he hadn't actually become a vampire demigod. He had returned to his original form as the Original Sin Sage.
The power of consensus didn't seem to be unlimited. Major changes in particular required a certain anchor.
In other words, one reason he had been able to rise from Peak Fourth Order to demigod with such ease was that he had once been a demigod to begin with.
This was no paradise where you could simply become whatever you imagined. The process of coupling behind it was quite complex and unforgiving.
So, for him, the best choice for now was clearly to keep using the team's power to complete the mission while subtly planting hints, so he could use that same power to continue recovering in the future.
