"Are you sure?"
Fu Qian's explanation had clearly come as quite a shock.
After staring straight at him for a while, Yuan Shan finally spoke, surprised by how certain he sounded.
"One of those little stars falling from the sky should be enough to leave you on the brink of death."
Fu Qian, however, was even more matter-of-fact. To make it easier for Chief Yuan to understand, he had even used her as a unit of measurement.
He wasn't exaggerating.
As someone who had happened to witness the whole thing, he hadn't faced the impact firsthand, but he could still make a rough judgment.
Clearly, although the conditions for summoning that falling meteor of fate were quite demanding, its eventual power had been worth the desperation it took to survive.
It might not have been enough to destroy the heavens and the earth, but based on his experience working with Chief Yuan, she would have struggled badly to withstand it.
Of course, since it was called a meteor of fate, perhaps its power automatically adjusted to suit its target.
If it had been used against Chief Yuan, the effect might not have been quite so ridiculous.
But that didn't change the point. This rather imprecise description was only meant to help her understand what the poor Angel Lord had been put through.
"Then the report mentioned dozens of them... I see. So those feathers were the remains of a Second Order who died?"
Yuan Shan had clearly always trusted Fu Qian's judgment.
But as she recalled the sacred figure with a pair of wings on her back, she couldn't help feeling both incredulous and wistful.
The bizarre creature that had eaten seventeen fish in one sitting, and that frustrating ability to hide itself... Yet just a
