A corner of the party fell quiet.
Under Fu Qian's gaze, the expressions on Batters and the other two men's faces grew so complicated they were hard to describe.
Knock, knock, knock!
But the knocking continued. Someone outside was even trying to turn the doorknob.
"You—"
Under another wave of psychological pressure, one of Batters's two accomplices—a guy with what looked like a bone protruding from the bridge of his nose—finally couldn't hold back and started to speak.
"Double cream, double sugar. Are you sure you don't want that?"
But the words died on his lips as a voice came from outside.
"I wasn't wrong. They really were looking for me."
The three men's eyes widened, and Fu Qian looked as though he'd just proved a point.
"Shall I get my drink first, then we can talk?"
The next moment, he even politely asked the three men for their opinion.

Batters and the others said nothing, so Fu Qian took that as consent and went straight to open the door.
Sure enough, it was the hot-dressed woman from earlier, the one who'd suggested he get himself a drink.
She was leaning against one side of the doorway and looked a little displeased, but she really did have a cup of coffee in her hand.
She'd actually remembered his unusual request and figured out how to accommodate it.
He could even tell she'd added the requested amount of milk.
"Thanks. Of course I want it."
Fu Qian thanked her at once for going to all that trouble.
"Not bad!"
After taking a sip, he gave it an earnest thumbs-up.
"What are you guys even doing in there?"
The woman in charge of the drinks—whose name he still didn't know—didn't look any happier.
She gave a snort
