"How could he have lost control to this extent when his body didn't look that dried out?"

Time was precious when it came to survival, and White's decisiveness had clearly earned approval.

As the group hurried after him, Jill had already continued her observations before they even reached the body.

She wasn't making things up. Though scarlet lines of blood were visible across the torso on the ground, the body wasn't nearly as decayed as it seemed. At least, it was in much better shape than hers.

"Not sure—look at me!"

White casually admitted that he didn't understand either, then immediately shouted toward the body.

To their surprise, it actually worked. The figure's head jerked up in a near-convulsive motion, trying to turn toward the group that had now approached.

"Can you stand?"

Ignoring whether those asymmetrical eyes could still see him, White paused at the reaction and asked coldly.

The result was another bout of violent convulsions. But in the end, the body neither stood up nor managed to respond with a sound. Only its eyes grew redder.

A familiar little flame drifted down at that moment, then exploded with a roar amid countless disbelieving stares.

Even from a distance, they could feel its astonishing heat.
