For one thing, reacting before the Night Watchers proved that whatever the Native Council was planning this time, they had likely been plotting it for a long while and keeping close tabs on every aspect. That was how they'd spotted the examinee named Ariel at the first opportunity.
In fact, that had been the main reason he'd tried what he did back then.
As for appearing as Ragdoll, it might seem that impersonating law enforcement would
