Reaching out again?
In a sense, the First Generation Dark Moon's relic was the Witch's greatest gain from this trip.
But they still hadn't discussed what the scroll in her hands actually was.
And now, right before they parted, she was telling him to put his hand on it?
This sudden request reminded Fu Qian of the last time they'd returned, when she'd charged up Time Moon Deep Sleep.
"What exactly is this thing?"
Curious, Fu Qian had already gone ahead and done as she asked.
"Not worried it's a trap?"
Seeing how readily he'd moved, the Witch asked with a playful smile.
To be fair, it was a reasonable question. They'd just been discussing traps set by Higher Beings.
The Templar Knight might be the most powerful person beneath the pope and might have performed countless great services, but let's not forget that the Higher Being they'd been talking about was "Mother."
"I'm not worried."
Fu Qian shook his head.
"...Although it left something for me inside, this isn't a recording scroll at all. Quite the opposite, actually. It seems it should be called a forgetting scroll."
Without saying anything more, the Witch turned her attention to the open scroll.
Unfortunately, even with his hand resting on it now, Fu Qian still couldn't make heads or tails of it.
"I've already checked repeatedly. Its effects are actually simple and straightforward. It can record something, yes, but once something is recorded, it's as good as buried.
"That's probably why the Stars Law, when brought back, had such a restraining effect on me."
Fortunately, the scroll's owner soon explained. She even brought up a point that had puzzled them for a long time.
"True. In theory, a Higher Being in a complete state shouldn't be susceptible to this kind of restriction."
