The room Lucy had passed on to Wendy honestly didn't have much of a girlish feel to it.
Even the view was rather ordinary. Most of what you could see through the small window was blocked by buildings.
The starry sky overhead and the river below were both reduced to tiny glimpses, almost as if you were peeking.
But that was precisely what, combined with the stories Lucy had just recalled, made being in the room feel so illicit.
Fu Qian's response, meanwhile, was more than a little blunt.
So much so that Katon, the Old Man in question, looked genuinely startled.
When Fu Qian had come up, he hadn't done anything particularly strange. He had simply sat by the window, leaning to one side as he gazed outside.
Now, though, he couldn't help turning around and staring at him for a long moment through narrowed eyes.
He seemed to have gained a whole new appreciation for Fu Qian, the winner of the interview—only to lose it again.
"I know... Life always leaves us with regrets, doesn't it?"
But the blunt remark seemed to have touched him after all. At one point, Katon sighed, showing that he understood completely the young woman's feelings after receiving that invitation.
He made no attempt to hide the fact that he'd been able to hear the conversation downstairs the whole time.
"What can you see?"
Though the young man before him had more insight than he'd expected, Katon still didn't seem to think he'd be able to empathize much.
Before Fu Qian could say anything, he simply gestured for him to come closer.

Fu Qian did as he was told without hesitation. The next moment, he was standing by the window, looking out from the same angle.
The view really
