Politeness really was contagious. Fu Qian's greeting was quickly returned.
Though he hadn't turned around, the clown lying there had already greeted him enthusiastically.
Not only that, he even casually pulled out a square box and pushed it to the side, gesturing for Fu Qian to sit and chat.
It was about the right size, though it seemed to be made of paper. The classic design of a jack-in-the-box, with red-and-white stripes and ribbons, looked ready to pop open and scare the life out of you at any moment.
It did suit the clown's style, though. It even brought to mind the black sack that had kidnapped someone earlier.

As he spoke, Fu Qian sat right down on it and gazed into the distance alongside the clown, recreating a scene that had once played out by the lake behind the door.
"I thought you'd go to the door first."
Fortunately, unlike the Prophet Yuan Fang, the clown seemed more willing to talk.
He'd immediately shown curiosity about Fu Qian's actions and revealed that he, too, belonged to that criminal gang.
