A demigod was furious. The consequences were severe.

The wind howled, and killing intent pierced the air.

Though he was still shrouded in shadow, his face indistinct, that did nothing to stop Fu Qian from recognizing the person before him—or sensing the emotions surging within her.

The good news was that he had achieved his main goal on this trip: Lady Selena had indeed come here.

The bad news was that she seemed to have achieved her goal, too.

The silver-tongued rat who had tricked her into this perilous situation had been firmly fixed in her sights.

Of course, from where he stood in the shadows, Fu Qian couldn't see any sign of flames yet.

But honestly, that wasn't enough to conclude that Lady Selena was doing fine. The more likely explanation was that the mosaic effect was just too thick.

"Okay."

Still, it didn't matter. As a prisoner, he could at least show a good attitude.

In response to Selena's warning, Fu Qian nodded and even remembered to smile. His demeanor was impeccable.

"Where is Solondir?"

Unfortunately, the response wasn't particularly friendly. Selena's tone was neither warm nor cold. She simply ignored his show of goodwill and went straight to the crucial question.

But honestly, that was fair enough. In their earlier conspiracy, this had indeed been his responsibility.

"Good question. I'm looking for him, too."

With a sigh, Fu Qian showed a good deal of remorse and explained that he hadn't found out where Solondir was yet.

"I thought you'd say he was on the ship, and that I could just go up and take a look."

But then came an unexpected turn. Faced with his rather irresponsible answer, Selena not only responded, but even thoughtfully supplied a possible answer.

"Sadly, I don't think he's on the ship."
