Li Ke's consciousness entered an endless expanse of starlight. Before him stood the female merchant.

Li Ke took a deep breath, then rubbed his temples.

"So, in the future, will there be clashes between spaces like the main god's space?"

The female merchant—or rather, the Seven Days to Die World Consciousness—shook her head.

"No. They don't have you. Because you exist, I recovered the fastest, and because of you, I abandoned the path of plunder and chose one where we can all benefit."

"What path is that?"

"If you heard about it now, the sheer amount of information would overwhelm you. You'd lose your mind and your will would collapse."

Li Ke folded his arms, a little impatient. It wasn't that he doubted the Seven Days to Die World Consciousness—or, rather, that wasn't the only reason. He knew it was because he was too weak.

Li Ke didn't like Lovecraftian horror, but he agreed with one of its central ideas.

That was, knowledge from higher dimensions could corrupt lower-dimensional beings, even kill them.

He'd experienced that plenty of times. It wasn't the first time he'd encountered the true power of the universe, the power seen from a higher-dimensional perspective, or the power of a world's will.

But every time, he was forced to face these overwhelming powers head-on. It made him feel as though he hadn't grown any stronger at all. He still had to tread carefully through these missions and figure out how to bring his friends along to deal with them.
