Orochimaru Gets the Message

"In short, to me, Lord Li Ke may be a little too eager for sex, but there's no doubt he's a good person, and a very gentle one. If you won't tell us what you want to know, we might as well enjoy our meal."

Ino Yamanaka spoke frankly to Diana.

She had no intention of doing anything unnecessary, especially anything that might make people suspicious.

"Don't worry. I'm not planning to do anything. I just want to know what kind of person Li Ke is. After all, if I wanted to know what he does or what his motives are, I'd ask him directly."

Diana reassured Ino Yamanaka, then looked at Lux Klein.

"However, Miss Lux Klein, I imagine you have a lot of questions, don't you?"

Lux Klein nodded. She hadn't planned to ask anything, but since Diana had brought it up, she smiled at Ino Yamanaka and asked her directly.

"Then, Miss Ino Yamanaka, may I ask how capable Mr. Li Ke is?"

In an instant, the air went still.

Yang Xiaolong stared at Lux Klein in shock, unable to believe that someone so gentle had asked such a question. Diana was surprised, too. She hadn't expected Lux Klein—the calculating woman she didn't particularly like—to be concerned about something like this.

In Diana's eyes, Lux Klein was a lot like her relative Athena. They were both the sort who used their wisdom to guide others forward, then stood back and watched the heroes advance.

It wasn't that there was anything wrong with that. Diana simply preferred warriors.

Ino Yamanaka was stunned, too. To her, Lux Klein was like a combination of Shikamaru and Danzo. Just like Diana, she hadn't expected this pink-haired girl to ask such an unusual question.

"Uh, well..."

Ino Yamanaka was at a loss.
