"Lin Mu, stop right there!"
Feng Bingbing gritted her teeth and chased after the figure ahead.
She knew Lin Mu's build far too well.
Back in college, she'd gone to the Literary Society every day on purpose, just to catch a glimpse of that figure.
After graduation, the two of them had gone their separate ways, but she often revisited the memory of him in her dreams.
No matter how long it had been, she'd never forget him!
Feng Bingbing swiftly put on a hat and mask. The pedestrian light was green, and she darted across the street.
Dusk had just fallen. Beneath the slanting glow of the sunset and the lights of the bustling traffic, the girl's long hair fluttered as she ran, her bearing bold and spirited, drawing admiring looks from everyone around her.
"Senior, don't run!"
The radiant young woman shouted at the man ahead and hurried after him, drawing startled looks from passersby.
The figure ahead turned a corner, and Feng Bingbing kept right on his heels.
But when she rounded the corner, the figure had vanished.
"Where did he go?"
Feng Bingbing looked around, then called Lin Mu, only to hear that his phone was switched off.
"I'm so mad! Senior, you can't get away from me!"
Feng Bingbing stamped her foot in frustration and continued searching everywhere.
"Brother Mu, I think Feng Bingbing has something urgent to ask you. Maybe you should go see what's up?"
Inside an inconspicuous, battered van parked by the roadside, Fat Tiger said this to Lin Mu, who had just climbed into the passenger seat.
"Cut the chatter. We've got important business tonight. Drive!"
Lin Mu said expressionlessly.
Fat Tiger shrank his neck. His gut told him not to mess with Brother Mu right now, so he hurriedly started the van.
As the van passed Feng Bingbing, Lin Mu had already rolled up the tinted window, concealing himself.
One was by the roadside, the other in the van, and they passed each other by.
"A Hen, get out up ahead and keep an eye on her."
Lin Mu suddenly spoke to Zhang Hen, who was sitting in the back.
"Keep an eye on who?"
Zhang Hen asked.
"Feng Bingbing. Don't let her do anything reckless. Also..."
Lin Mu paused, then added:
"Stay with her until she meets up with her agent. You can leave after that."
"Okay."
Zhang Hen had always listened to Lin Mu without asking questions.
Fat Tiger stopped the van, and Zhang Hen opened the door and got out. He turned back and asked:
"Brother Mu, what if Feng Bingbing notices me?"
Lin Mu glared at him. "Is shaking her off really that hard?"
Zhang Hen thought it over. "What if she keeps following me?"
Lin Mu said impatiently, "Do I have to teach you what to do?"
Zhang Hen immediately nodded, convinced he understood.
They were top paparazzi, experts at tailing people and staying hidden.
What they couldn't stand was being followed themselves.
They'd run into this kind of thing before.
The usual solution was simple: lure the fool who didn't know what was good for him into Lost Forest, leave him lost there all night, and teach him not to mess with the wrong people.
There was a stretch of woods on Muren Mountain. The mountain roads were rough, and it was easy to lose your way there at night, so people called it "Lost Forest."
It was the home turf of the Sky Curtain Trio.
Having understood Brother Mu's intentions, Zhang Hen closed the van door and stood about seven or eight meters from Feng Bingbing, watching her from a distance.
As Fat Tiger drove onto the road, he asked:
"Brother Mu, A Hen's a bit thickheaded. What if your junior really spots him?"
"Shut up!"
Lin Mu cut him off and said coolly:
"Has Zhou Yiyi's official girlfriend arrived in Jiangrong?"
Fat Tiger answered at once, "She should be here soon."
Lin Mu really was planning to do something big tonight—to nail Zhou Yiyi to the wall.
While Lin Mu was competing, Zhang Hen had already found out that Zhou Yiyi really did have another girlfriend.
And she was his official girlfriend, Zhou Min, the daughter of a wealthy businessman.
Their relationship was something like a sugar-daddy arrangement.
The two women who had been keeping Zhou Yiyi company in Jiangrong these past couple of days were his side pieces.
Fat Tiger had already sent Zhou Min photos of Zhou Yiyi fooling around with his side pieces.
He'd also offered to take her to catch him in the act.
Zhou Min had immediately bought a plane ticket and rushed to Jiangrong.
All that was left was to set up a spectacular showdown and record the whole thing.
Of course, the Sky Curtain Trio couldn't get directly involved. White Dog was watching them like a hawk lately, so Lin Mu needed someone new to the scene.
This person had to be bold, naturally passionate about gossip, and also foolish and obedient.
Lin Mu had already found just the fool.
Half an hour later.
At the entrance to a parking lot on Huiyuan Road, two streets from Jiangrong Satellite TV.
A fool hoping to catch some juicy gossip crouched on the ground, looking around.
"Damn, I really am an idiot. I actually came."
After the show ended, Hao Jian had hurried out of Jiangrong Satellite TV and taken a cab to the meeting spot arranged with Dawei Tianlong.
But he'd waited for quite a while and hadn't seen a soul.
Hao Jian figured he'd probably been played, but he just couldn't resist his curiosity about "the huge scoop on Zhou Yiyi." He kept muttering to himself, but still didn't leave.
Suddenly, a van came speeding toward him and screeched to a halt. The gust of wind it kicked up blew his hair back.
The passenger-side window rolled down, revealing Dawei Tianlong's face.
"Get in, quick!"
Hao Jian froze. He had a feeling that once he got in, he might not get back out—but there was something strangely alluring about the open van door.
"Come on, we're running out of time!"
Dawei Tianlong called out again. After a moment's hesitation, Hao Jian gritted his teeth and finally climbed in.
Bang!
The door slammed shut and locked. The van roared away from the curb, whipped around, and merged seamlessly into the main road's traffic.
"What exactly are we going to do?"
After finally settling himself, Hao Jian glanced at the driver, a fat man, and Dawei Tianlong in the passenger seat. He felt nervous, but also a little excited.
The two men up front said nothing. After the van had been driving for a while, Hao Jian spotted a car ahead and suddenly shouted:
"Damn, isn't that Zhou Yiyi's car? You're... really tailing Zhou Yiyi?!"
Fat Tiger glanced back at Hao Jian in surprise. "How do you know that's Zhou Yiyi's car?"
Hao Jian said proudly, "That's not all. I've memorized all four mentors' license plates!"
Fat Tiger laughed. "Brother Mu, this guy actually knows his stuff."
"You flatter me, Brother Fat. They call me the Walking Encyclopedia. I grew up in my family's courtyard—"
"Shut up," Lin Mu interrupted coolly. Then he said to Fat Tiger, "Keep your distance."
Fat Tiger slowed down a little, leaving more space between them and Zhou Yiyi's car.
Hao Jian wanted to say something, but one look at Brother Long, who seemed completely different from the man he'd been during the show, made him wisely keep quiet.
And what happened next left Hao Jian so stunned he couldn't say a word.
A little over ten minutes later, Zhou Yiyi's car stopped at an intersection, and a woman dressed provocatively got in.
Half an hour later, Zhou Yiyi's car stopped again, and another woman got in.
Then Zhou Yiyi's car drove into the underground parking garage of a hotel.
Just then, Lin Mu's phone rang.
"Did you pick up Zhou Yiyi's girlfriend? Yeah, I'm almost ready on my end too. I'll send you the hotel location."
Lin Mu hung up and told Fat Tiger to drive into the hotel's underground parking garage as well.
They stopped not far from Zhou Yiyi's parking spot.
"Get down!"
At Lin Mu's command, Hao Jian hurriedly ducked.
He cautiously lifted his head a little and saw Zhou Yiyi, wearing a mask, get out of the car and head toward the parking garage elevator with the two women.
He turned his head and saw that the fat man who'd been driving had taken a hotel uniform from a black bag and changed into it with practiced ease.
Then he tossed another uniform to Hao Jian.
"What are we supposed to do?"
Hao Jian froze.
Lin Mu looked at him, the corner of his mouth curling up.
"I'm giving you a chance to watch the show up close. Do you dare?"
