Background / History

Ling Qingzhu is the Saintess and direct disciple of the Nine Heavens Supreme Clarity Palace, a super sect of the Eastern Xuan Region. Her master regards her as the Palace’s future leader, and Ling Qingzhu is identified publicly as its future Palace Master. 2 160 161

While cultivating beside a lake within the Palace, she received a personal copy of Lin Yang’s Diary after it bypassed the sect’s protective formation. The Diary’s claims about her future initially provoked disbelief and anger; when she attempted to raise the matter with her master, she felt an overwhelming premonition that speaking of it would result in her death. 2 3 4

Her master subsequently ordered her to the Great Yan Dynasty, citing the Palace’s ties to the Huangpu Clan and Ling Qingzhu’s stalled cultivation. Ling Qingzhu connected the mission to the Diary’s references to the Ancient Tomb of Sky Flame and began investigating Lin Yang’s whereabouts. 5 6 11
