Wang Versus Wang

When they rushed back to the teaching building, they happened to see Wang Ge walking down the stairs slowly, fiddling with a key in his hand.

"You're back?"

Wang Ge smiled at them.

Seeing Wang Ge so leisurely, Chen Yanxi's expression softened slightly, and she asked, "Where did you go?"

"Went upstairs to play with the ghost."

"Where's the ghost?" Zhou Liu asked.

"I locked it on the second floor." Wang Ge played with the key in his hand and said with a smile.

"Ah?" Zhou Liu was dumbfounded.

"Awesome." Huang Wenyan gave him a thumbs up.

Wang Ge waved his hand: "Low-key, low-key."

"Haha, when we suddenly realized you were gone, we were really startled. Especially Little Yanxi, she was so anxious, she wished she could grow wings and fly in to find you," Chen Man'an teased.

"Yeah, yeah, Little Yanxi was so worried about you," Yang Songyue chimed in.

Wang Ge looked down at Chen Yanxi, took her small hand, and asked with a smile, "Is that so?"

Chen Yanxi's expression was calm. She wasn't shy about being teased; instead, she asked with a hint of confusion, "It's normal for me to care about my boyfriend, isn't it?"

This rhetorical question immediately choked the two who wanted to see Chen Yanxi embarrassed, leaving them speechless for a moment.

"Hahaha, I feel like Chen Yanxi can always stay calm no matter what happens. She's clearly someone who can do great things," Zhou Liu said, breaking the silence. He nudged Wang Ge with his arm, "Don't hold her back, kid."

"Don't worry, I'm counting on living off her in the future," Wang Ge replied with a smile.

After a few more rounds of bickering, they returned to the basement.

The final boss had been locked up by Wang Ge on the second floor of the teaching building. Now they had no obstacles and naturally cleared the game.

The hidden quest was in the basement, which they also completed smoothly, receiving a souvenir reward from the haunted house – a slightly creepy-looking baby skull charm.

When they walked out of the haunted house, it was already close to one in the afternoon. The group went to a pre-booked restaurant for a meal.

The script Zhou Liu and the others chose was one of those strange and unusual ones.

Six people, each in their own faction, with hidden identities and having done unspeakable things.

To put it bluntly, none of them were good people.

The six of them committed six crimes: some murdered, some stole, some did "that" before "that."

What they had to do was conceal their own crimes while finding evidence of others' crimes, reporting them, and sending them to prison.

The player who was not found to have committed a crime and survived until the end would be the winner.

It goes without saying that this was a very hardcore deduction game. Normally, in a script murder mystery game, everyone works together to find one murderer. Now, they had to find evidence of five other people's crimes by themselves, all while preventing their own crimes from being discovered. The difficulty was not small.

According to the DM, this script could take five to six hours to play.

Hearing the DM's words, Wang Ge and Chen Yanxi exchanged glances and smiled faintly.

Five to six hours? That wouldn't do; it was too long.

Thus, not long after the game began, Wang Ge took the lead and eliminated Huang Wenyan.

Immediately after, Wang Ge, in his great mercy, also had his girlfriend Yang Songyue join him off the stage.

Seeing this, Chen Yanxi pursed her lips and calmly sent Zhou Liu and his girlfriend away.

Less than an hour after the game started, only the two of them were left on the stage.

"You guys got eliminated too?" Huang Wenyan said gleefully.

"Damn it, those two perverts. I'm never playing a mind game with them again."

Zhou Liu grumbled.

"One is first in the whole school, the other is second. It's not shameful to lose to them," Chen Man'an said with a smile. "Now, let's just watch the show. I bet Chen Yanxi will win."

She had used all her strength to defend against Chen Yanxi, her nerves stretched taut, yet she was still easily eliminated.

Now that she was out, she didn't have to face Chen Yanxi directly, which was quite a relief.

"I bet Wang Ge will go easy on her," Huang Wenyan said confidently.

Hearing this, Chen Yanxi chuckled softly. "Then let's do it."

Eliminating Zhou Liu and the others was too easy, lacking any real challenge or sense of accomplishment.

Only by engaging in a battle of wits with an opponent of equal caliber, playing steadily, calculating meticulously, and using every trick in the book, could one feel truly satisfied, even if they ultimately lost.

Thus, Zhou Liu and the other three watched as these two battled it out for a full two hours.

It was truly a king-vs-king showdown. The two-hour game was incredibly exciting, leaving Zhou Liu and the others mesmerized.

The situation was constantly changing. One moment Wang Ge was about to be checkmated, and the next, a seemingly fatal predicament was perfectly resolved, allowing Wang Ge to even counterattack.

They felt that if they were in the players' shoes, they probably wouldn't last even a minute before being eliminated.

Finally, Chen Yanxi sighed helplessly. She was half a move short and was smilingly eliminated by Wang Ge.

"Brilliant, absolutely brilliant," the DM applauded them, full of praise. "I've hosted so many of these, and this is the first time I've seen such an exciting match. It was like a brainstorming session..."

Zhou Liu and the other three also gathered around, exclaiming, "You guys are too awesome..."

"Yeah, towards the end, I basically couldn't understand anything. I just felt like it was incredibly impressive."
