Everyone looked up at the thunderclouds gathering overhead.
Some were still staring blankly. Others had already begun retreating downhill. One person stood watching the purple lightning slash down from the clouds and suddenly said, "Why does that look a bit like Purple Firmament Divine Thunder?"
The lightning did not strike the players. It struck a point in the void beneath the clouds.
Then the rain came pouring down.
It came too fast and too hard to be an ordinary storm.
The rain was dark gray. Every drop fell with the weight of molten lead, and when it struck the rocks, it sent up not splashes but rings of Dao Resonance visible to the naked eye.
Water rushed down the mountainside. At first, it formed only tiny streams, but in the blink of an eye, they joined into a raging torrent.
The flood poured down from above the mountain's waist, too fast for anyone to react.
Someone tried to fly clear on a sword, only for raindrops to hammer his back the moment he left the ground. He crashed into the water as though struck by a heavy mallet.
Someone brought out a protective treasure to block the flood, but its barrier was pierced the instant it touched the dark-gray current.
Someone tried to use an escape art to teleport uphill, only to find that the Dao Resonance carried by the flood had thrown the mountain's Space Law into utter chaos. The art would not activate at all.
"This isn't an ordinary flood! There's Great Dao Law in the water! It doesn't attack the body—it goes straight for the Primordial Spirit!"
Whoever shouted that was swept away as soon as the words left his mouth.
The dark-gray current felt like nothing against their bodies.
But it struck their Primordial Spirits.
