Chapter Summaries

After helping Rengar and Irelia defeat Noxian soldiers, Bai Ye left with Nidalee to travel through Ionia. They found the newly awakened Ahri, brought her along, and settled into an inn, where Ahri waited for Bai Ye to fall asleep so she could begin hunting him.

• Rengar agreed to cooperate with Irelia against Noxus, while Bai Ye said he had come to watch the fighting and then left with Nidalee.
• Nidalee returned to her tribe, reunited with Neeko, and told her she planned to travel with Bai Ye.
• Bai Ye and Nidalee found a white fox whose illusion magic failed to affect him, and Bai Ye named her Ahri and brought her along.
• In a nearby town, Nidalee explored the unfamiliar streets and worried that humans would see her as a freak, but Bai Ye reassured her.
• At the inn, Nidalee transformed into a leopard and slept on the floor despite Bai Ye offering her the bed; after Bai Ye fell asleep, Ahri opened her eyes and began her hunt.

Bai Ye and Nidalee traveled toward Wuji Village, where Noxian soldiers attacked with Singed’s Alchemical Fire. Bai Ye froze the flames and defeated the squad, while Swain shifted Noxus’s focus to Precyden, unaware that a strange smile had crossed a departing soldier’s face.

• Ahri repeatedly failed to absorb Bai Ye’s soul essence while he pretended to sleep, then later consumed the essence of recently dead battlefield victims.
• Nidalee explained that she, Rengar, and Neeko had come from Ixtal to help Vastaya clans leave Ionia, and Bai Ye chose to travel to Wuju first.
• Bai Ye, Nidalee, and Ahri reached Wuji Village and found a Noxian squad setting it ablaze with Singed’s poisonous Alchemical Fire.

Bai Ye then agreed to escort Sona and a group of children toward Demacia, but realized his actions against Noxus had made their planned route through the empire impossible.

• LeBlanc told Vladimir that she intended to leave Swain alive as a scapegoat after his defeat, and she became interested in recruiting Bai Ye.
• Master Yi returned to Wuji Village, confirmed that its people were safe, and agreed to teach Bai Ye the Wuju Style after the war.

• Kikyo refused to hand over the Shikon Jewel until Bai Ye explained that Seimei’s soul dominated it and could not be purified.
• Seimei emerged from the jewel, and Bai Ye deduced that the gods of Takama-ga-hara had revealed his search for it and recruited Seimei after his defeat.
• Bai Ye and Seimei discussed the gods’ plans and Seimei’s fear of Bai Ye; Seimei proposed they rule the human world together, but Bai Ye refused.

In Heian-kyō, Seimei refused to abandon his plans and trapped Bai Ye and his companions inside a citywide formation as his Hundred Ghosts and undead legion gathered.

• Bai Ye revealed that he had no intention of giving Kaguya the Hagoromo, then defeated her and burned away the demon occupying her body, freeing the Heavenly Maiden.
